i traded a 1100g and two 600g normal females for this spider.i had to do it because he wasnt a normal looking spider.for a second i was like oh hes a pinstripe from the pics the person sent me.upon geting him i was like wow.so i traded.i didnt get to much info on him except he locked up with one of her females and she was gravid.i was braid dead when she said she would trade and brought me him so didnt ask any questions.he hasnt eatin in two months but is in good health.guess because he is still in breeding mode.and heres what i got.now the question is what is he realy.any ideas?????

His reduced pattern could be genetic which is a plus, but still he's only spider IMO :gj:

I have a "thing" for reduced patterns, so nice pickup :)

low white i got that... but explain the stripe and how its passed on to the babbies.they come out just like dad.if its genetic then its would be recessive like a genetic stripe.idk.i understand recessive genes and all but the stripe just throws me off.

Last year I bred a Lesser male to a bumblebee female.
The lesser has no stripe and the bee really doesn't have much if any either.
http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/PICT4599.jpg

But they produced...

female queenbee with a killer stripe...
http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/100_2421.jpg

and a lesserbee female...
http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/PICT9867.jpg

The bee's in the clutch had very little striping, but as you see spider can throw some striped offspring, no extra genes are needed to do so.

It's just a neck stripe...don't look too much into it...it's pretty common...

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't, only breeding him multiple times would let you know if he passes it on more than occasionally.

I don't know if the stripes on the females I produced will carry over to the offspring, I'd assume some will get it and some won't, just like my black pastels that are jungle pattern also throw blush back black pastels

Too soon,
They need breaks between pairing, a couple days is not always enough time for the female to recuperate.
I usually only pair once a week or less often depending on the pairing and how many lock ups they do.
If they lock multiple times in the couple of days that they are together I give the female a week or so off before pairing her again.

Just because it might be genetic does not mean it has to be a recessive trait. G-Stripe is a recessive, but that does not mean all stripe patterns are.

ok ill try that.i paired up a few male with females and none of them are gravid.just my luck.lesson learned since this was my first breeding season that passed.oh well ill try again.

I do think that some stripe patterns, and some reduced patterns are genetic...and possibly are due to single genes. People simply aren't bothering (for whatever reason) to identify them as a morph.

A pairing of 2 recessives would explain why two non-striped animals would consistently throw some striped offspring.

I have a female that throws striped lessers when I pair her with a specific lesser male.

We may be able to create some very distinctive looks if we pay more attention to these 'just a reduced normal' animals, and to the striped ones as well.

thats what i plan on doing.once i find out if he deff passes the stripe down on my end.it just adds more style and attitude to the paint job of the morph.i think.

Haven't genetic reduced bp's been around for a while now? David Fernandez (I think that's his name) used to have pics of some killer reduced pattern (but otherwise normal) bp's...

Agree...seems to be a pretty common trait with Spiders...
