Favorite Brand of Racks?
Hello, I'm tired of my glass enclosure not holding in humidity & heat, and am interested in racks, if you don't mind please list your favorite brand or type of racks, links, prices, or any other forms of example are encouraged! :p
Thanks.

Here's my experience with Boaphile. I was not a happy camper with the service as you'll see from the thread. The product is good, but service is not and I won't order from him again. I'll stick with Reptile Basics or Animal Plastics for racks and also pvccages.com for cages/enclosures.

My RBI sweater box rack. Haven't had a single thing to complain about with it.

I've used RBI racks for a while now, and have never been disappointed with the racks or the fantastic customer service from Rich at RBI. I will use RBI racks for as long as they keep making them.

Once you go rack, you'll never go back :gj:

I have 3 Animal Plastics racks and have no complaints. Quality is great, they're a snap to assemble, and priced reasonably. You have multiple heating options and 2 (two!!!) color choices. :D They make them for Sterilite, Rubbermaid and Iris tubs. They also have options for closed back and sides and an "economy" option where the sides and back are open.

Love animal plastics racks, they are sturdy yet light enough to be shipped Fedex which also mean light enough for me to carry the boxes upstairs in the snake room, and they are very easily put together.
They also fit your need from as little as 3 shelves to 13 for some of their racks.
Additionally great price and great customer service.
I have 8 of them and I am slowly upgrading my homemade racks to animal plastics.

AP and Boaphile, but am likely done with Boaphile related to non existent customer service. I wish AP make a rack with the Rubbermaid 3308....

Reptile Basics. Rich is awesome and really really truly awesome to work with. He's been so patient and pleasant. I have one rack from him and have just purchased two more that I'll be picking up from him in July. :gj::gj::gj:

I'll check in on the RBI & the AP; I was getting so excited reading the replies, sorry I'm a dork :p. 400th post by the way .

I've had many different brands of racks including home made, Freedom breeder, vision, boaphile, Monster-cages.com and Animal plastics. For my money, animal plastics is my favorite

I just got an ARS 7030 about a month ago. I love it!!!
-
The ARS is sweet but out of a lot of folks price range, and needs a heated room

I LOVE my RBI sweaterbox rack. Same one that Rob has. For $280 you get the rack, the tubs, the heat, all assembled and shipped. Best deal out there imo. Plus you get Rich's customer service which is the best in the world. Im a customer for life. Ive also heard good things about Animal Plastics and the other companies mentioned in the thread. I would also tend to agree with the negative rep that Boapile has. Seems like many people end up frustrated after a transaction with Jeff.

Nobody has mentioned C Serpents. They have the best pricing around and average a one week ship time from the day of purchase. I have been talking back and forth to them, they have answered all of my questions very quickly. I plan on picking up an 18 slot hatchling rack from them for $265 shipped with heat and tubs. You can't beat it when you need a rack fast! I usually build my own. I also have an 10 slot 15qt RBI rack that I picked up used on CL for super cheap ($75). It's very well made and I've bought a ton of other products from Rich, he has always had amazing customer service and competive prices as well.

I saw C Serpent racks at a reptile show recently, they are cheap... but so is the build quality...
I prefer Animal Plastics, but RBI is a close second.
Someday I might get some ARS or Freedom Breeder racks, but those are not for someone just starting out... they are geared more towards large scale breeding.

I picked up a Boaphile and am very happy with it. As mentioned the customer service could definitively be improved but he was very good about any questions over the phone. The only receipt I got was the one from paypal and there where no updates unless I called to ask but the rack is great and arrived when he said it would. I would buy from him again.

Im in the same boat ,currently waiting for my tracking number so i can get my rack from Boaphile. Going on 7 weeks now, when i was told 5. I know alot of people on here swear by RBI and i am interested in getting one. But the one thing i noticed about them is that they dont make a 41 quart rack? Im pretty sure it said 37 quart. Is that large enough for an Adult Female BP and a Breeder male if you plan on breeding?

They make a CB-70 rack, almost every large scale breeder uses the CB-70 tub for their female breeders.

The Iris cb70 tubs that RBI uses are the equivalent to the sterilite 1960 tubs. The cb70 is only 5.25" deep while the sterilite tubs are 6" deep. Thus the cb70s are 37qt and the sterilites are 41qt. But the footprint size is the same. :gj:

Oh ok. That makes sense then, thank you.

I like both RBI and AP. I feel AP quality is a bit better, but they are also more expensive so it makes sense. That being said, I have also been very happy with RBI's quality. At the end of the day, I think it also depends what you are looking for. If you need a rack with only a few tubs (e.g. 4 sweater tubs), the convenience, price and quality of RBI can't be beat. If you think you will need bigger racks with many tubs (e.g. 10 sweater tubs), AP is the way to go I think. What I also like about AP is that they can make racks for any tub even if it isn't listed on their site. I got a hatchling rack from AP that uses the vision V-18 tubs. So if you want a custom job, AP all the way. Just email them and tell them what you want and they will tell you if they can make it and quote you a price. I have been very satisfied by customer service from both.

Re: Favorite Brand of Racks?
Im a huge fan of what ever is on sale or second hand at my local expo. lol I use mostly home made racks only because of the price but i'm slowly upgrading to animal plastics. I have one of the economy racks and it works well but tubs do seem to drag a little when i pull them in and out. I am considering talking to a local plastics factory about possibly making some. I've got a friend in managment there and he seems interested. they make pickup bed liners and consoles and such for vehicles. Im hoping to be a product tester if they decide to do a trial run. lol

Email AP about the rubbermaid 3308 tubs. They may make it for you even if it isn't listed on their site. I had them make me a hatchling rack that uses vision V-18 tubs.

Jinx, in the video you said that rack can hold both 15 quart and a 32 quart tubs. Is that the Iris 375 rack? I don't remember you saying exactly which rack it was. Very informative video, thank you!
