    2 New Additions
So, it's been about a month since I got my first normal female BP from petsmart. My wife and I love her so much we had to get more!!! We have plans to start breeding in 2013. So, I found a deal for 2 males for $400. A 200g Pasatve and a 600g Fire. I plan to get 2 females in a couple months, a bumble bee and a pastel butter. Anyway here are the pics.

    Pasatve

    Thanks : )

My fire, Ifrit, ate 2 F/T for me last night. The pastave, Hades or Loki, still deciding, refused his so the fire picked up the slack. I was using up the rest of my Medium F/T fuzzies.

I was used to feeding my 200g normal, and the 600g fire tore the things up. I was trying to lore him out of the hide and talking to my wife and the next second the thing was gone off the tongs like a shotgun hit it. Very agrresive eater and eating on his first day : )

    That fire is smoking hot!!!!!!

    Aggressive eaters are always good!

    A f/t fuzzy is like.. 15g as a mouse and 25g as a rat.

The 600g fire needs to be eating 'small' rats - which are 60-100 grams.

THE FIRE'S PATTERN IS OUT OF CONTROL NICE! Insane! Do all fires have this reduced madness going on? That snake is awesome!

EDIT: you got a pastave and that fire for 400 for both?!!?! WHAT! Where do I find this kind of deal! the pastave alone is a nice one and probably worth that or a little more by itself!

Ya, Like I said, I was just cleaning out the rest of my F/T from when I first got my baby. And I was just seeing if they might eat on their first day in the new set up. I have rats for next week : )

YES, I did get both of them for $400 bucks.... Could't pass that deal up. Bargained with a guy I found on kingsnake classified. I am still talking to him and if he gives the OK, I will give out his info to you guys. He said he has 50-75 snakes and is looking to sell a good bit of them. But, I don't want to give out his info just yet without his permission.

And that Fire has an awesome pattern with the lines almost all the way down and reduced. I'm going to pair him with a pastel butter and work on some Nuclear stuff!!!
    :D

I have to agree with annarose, the addiction begins!! I wake up in the morning, check my snakes, getting ready to leave for work, check my snakes, as soon as I get home for work and get comfy and go straight to the snake room. When my
lady gets home, she is usually able to pry me out of the snake room for the rest of the night, until right before I go to sleep :) I gotta check em one more time and tell them goodnight :) (not one by one just in general haha)
It always make me feel good when people take in this great hobby we all share :)

I had this question recently and I guess it's most applicable here.

How heritable do you breeders find PATTERNS on ball pythons to be? It's obviously variable, but how variable? I'm talking about the pattern on a normal or something, not morph specific characteristics.

Haha sounds like me except the snakes are in my master bedroom and my wife joins in on the fun! : )

Just last night after my wife was going to sleep. She said " Do I need to get you your flashlight so you can check on them all night?"

    So much fun!

I am really glad to know I'm not the only one who does this!

I even bought a cool dual bulb LED flashlight that lets me choose between white light and red light....

Amazing additions!! The stripe on your fire is very cool.

A bit of caution though, you want to avoid offering one snake the others refused food item when they're still in QT. It's a pain to have to waste food but the snakes will be better off for it in the end especially if one (god forbid) is sick.

Haha my lady joins in on the fun all the time, sometimes I even catch her in there by herself haha she just doesn't understand how i can be interested for hours and hours.

That's a great idea! I need to find my flashlight now :p ha

I wouldn't think it would be an issue since you have the cage divided but do you know how long they had them in their collection before they sold them or did the seller produce them?

Oh then that should be fine. Especially since you got them from the same place. I wouldnt worry about it, just keep a close eye on them, like with any new addition...
I was expecting the worse lol. "ya theyre both cuddling in a 10 gallon tank with no hides or heat on sand substrate" lol.

The seller produced both. He has been breeding snakes 10+ years and also guarantees them. So, I am still QT'ing them but gave them a full look over. I plan to QT for 60 days.

EDIT: I've only had my normal for 3 weeks so technically they are all on QT for 60 days.

Also!!!! My wife and I are fighting over the name for the pastave.

    Hades or Loki

I like Loki, the pastave doesn't have a dark enough look for a Hades... IMO
