Male or Female
I just recently had my ball python sexed and they told me it was a female, but she is only 3.6 feet long... is she just really small or should I get a second opinion?

This is a picture of Perritas the Ball in question and it's an old pic

Size, in this case, doesn't matter.
Who sexed it?

Sex cannot be determined (accurately) by size or looks. You would have to get your snake probed to find out the sex.

Re: Male or Female
The guy that probed her is a pet shop owner who owns ball pythons and sells them, he also sells many other species of snakes. I will try getting another picture up, my avatar is actually a pic of her but idk if you can click on that one. I don't doubt his ability to probe, but she just seems quite small.

Ok i can not figure out how to post pics that actually show up

To be honest that's a really good length for a female..but weight is more of a factor, not in sexing but just to tell the over all health of the animal.

Re: Male or Female
She is five years old or so and seven fifty grams, not huge but you can't see her back bone and she hasn't ever been sick. I give her a small rat every week and she eats like a champ. I'm afraid to give her anything larger because they can become agressive towards the snake.

750 grams for a 7 year old snake sounds kind of thin for one that is 3+ feet long.. Just my :cents: you might think about bumping the food size or quantity up just a touch.

Re: Male or Female
She is five, not seven, and I just recently switched her from large mice. I was informed that mice didn't have as high of a protien content. Should i try giving her two rats instead of one? Or go to a medium sized rat?
