Feeding before a vacation.

I have an 8 month old BP. She eats live for now.
My regular feeding day is Friday but I am going on vacation next Wednesday don't really want her to skip a meal while we are gone.

Is it ok to try and feed her tomorrow night (5 days since last feeding)? That was I can feed her next Tuesday before we leave town for a week?

Or should I just let her skip a meal. Not sure if I should keep her on a strict schedule or not.

I always skip feedings whenever I'm going away for a few or more days.

I stop all feeding at least a week prior to going out of town.

I skip a feeding as well before traveling. I find it very helpful for snakes that poop on a fairly regular schedule after a feeding. If I skip, I can feel confident that they won't be sitting in a dirty tub while I'm gone.

I will have someone to check on her and make sure the cab is clean. I just got her eating so I am afraid of breaking the streak. This is a fear and your experience counts for much more.

Should I be worried about skipping the feeding? I assume she will just be extra hungry but like I said I don't want to do anything that stops the progress.

I wouldn't worry about it.. If she is a picky eater or just began to eat, skipping a meal can't hurt, she'll just be good and hungry when you come back!

Thanks everyone I just figured it is best to check. I had it timed for 5 days apart to move the feeding up if I had to. I will keep it on the regular night.

I may move it up a little when I get back though. Hate feeding on on Friday and waiting until late Sunday or Monday to handle her.

How long will you be gone? I'd skip feeding just in case. Even if you have someone checking, you never know whats going to happen!

I would just skip it. You wouldn't want to come home to a 7 day old regurge!

i agree with the others skip this time. would hate to see you post up that it regurged and died, or got an infection, belly rot, etc from her sitting in a nasty tub for a few days.

Thanks. I will skip it. I guess I just wasn't sure what to worry about first, the possie poop, or keeping her feeding routine so I can avoid her going off food since I have he eating for a couple feeds in a row.

What would cause a regurge? That has been mentioned a couple times now.

Also should I feed every 5 days or every 7 at 8 months old? I figured every 7 should be fine but I am open to other opinions. I can keep a schedule if 5 days is healthier.

5-7 is a fine enough schedule. i feed mine currently, about every 4-5 days myself. they will let you know if they want it or not. if they refuse a few in a row, i hold off for a week or 2 before offering anything more. generally they got a mondo turd that needs to pass, or are about to shed.

A regurge can be caused by a few things. Temp spike or drop, stress, etc.
