    New Additions from Omega
New additions finally came home from Omega Pythons today!

I snapped a couple of pictures with my cellphone. They are not the best quality but I wanted to get them up here LOL. I bought a 2011 female black pastel sitting at 400grams, and a 2006 female spider sitting at 2200grams after her breeding season fast so I am expecting a heavy Spider girl come this next season.

I'm planning on taking a collection update photo shoot soon hahhaa so I'll have better photos of these girls. The spider is in shed so she's darker than she normally is...

    0.1 Black Pastel -400grams

    0.1 Spider - 2200grams

This Spider I bought specifically for this breeding season she gave 9 good eggs in 2010 and hasn't been bred in 2011 so I am expecting a heavy girl with a 9+ clutch for next Year :D. I know it's hard to see in the pictures but she is very high white. Her white comes up over an inch and a half on her sides.

Both of those girls look great and are awesome additions!

What do you plan on pairing the Spider girl with?

    Thanks :D!

I plan on pairing her with this guy as long as he keeps putting the food into him like he has been.

But I am also contemplating throwing in my male pastel het. axanthic to get some PH axanthic bumble bees to put back into the project.. She's capable of laying at least 9 so I want to get as many plugs into her as I can and the lesser is still a little on the small side so I might throw both in seeing that they are all co-dom genetics and there will be no question as to who the parental counterparts will be. I do have my heart set on Lesser bees, but I also want him for my lesser female. I wan't Blue Eyed Lucy's pretty badly lol.

    Cheers,
    Chris

That's pretty much what my face looked like when my buddy Chris from Omega texted me and asked me if I would be interested. He had her listed for $150.00 but I guess I'm special haha. I will be getting her a super pastel boyfriend next year - that way they will both be ready for me in 2014 ;).

I had actually never seen a black pastel before her. LOL They are not all that common in this area. I didn't want to put her in her bin when i got her home hahaha. I keep peeking in and wanting to play with her but i guess i;ll let her settle in.

Congrats on the pick-ups! Gorgeous animals and an amazing deal! Just noticed you said you wanted to breed your lesser to your other lesser? I thought you weren't supposed to breed lesser x lesser for fear of defects?

Yup. Lesserxlesser, butterxbutter, and lesserxbutter tend to throw bug eye BEL babies.
    Lesserxmojave and butterxmojave are safe.

I don't know how harmful bug eyes are, but they don't seem to hinder a snake. It lessens a snakes value and it does look quite disturbing. There's a thread here called 'worst bug eyes I've ever seen' or something like that. Check that out. Gives a pretty good example of a bug eye BEL.
