I Want To See You Dinkers!
Title says it all :) I could call my little normal female a dinker (she has train tracks and a clear belly like a het-pied marker) but compared to some others I've seen she is just a perfect normal :D
So! Show me you pics of dinkers and (since I'm no expert on the little details) tell why you believe it's a good dinker! I've seen some really unique dinkers but I've also seen dinkers that look... Normal to be but have proved to be something.

Re: I Want To See You Dinkers!
This is my "dinker." He's a het pied, so it's probably just a het thing, but I can still hope. :)
As a baby.

I like him because he has wicked flames, doughnuts in his pattern, and a break in his neck stripe, as well as a partial stripe. He eats like a pig too. :) Also, on the edges of the aliens heads, he's been developing a grey color too. Who knows whats going on with him.
I have belly pics i can post up when I get home.

Re: I Want To See You Dinkers!
Here is my girl. She popped out of a clutch of reduced pattern x mojave. Heres a pic of the clutch: 3 Mojos, 2 Normals and my Dinker girl on the far left.

There are pictures of this girl on the site already, but I just love to show her off 'cause she's so pretty :)
Lilith, our dinker:

I love her because she's such a beautiful gold colour, and has a really reduced pattern with like three spots. She's about 700g right now, and keeps getting brighter!

Re: I Want To See You Dinkers!
I picked this guy up as a CH oddball type. He has some pretty interesting characteristics, and in some ways looks so similar to some other morphs, but just not quite like them. I like him, and hopefully I'll get him into some breeding somewhat soon.

Exactly the first impression I got, but it's definitely not, that I can tell anyway. Belly is all wrong.

Both of these BPs are het. axanthic.
I regret selling them..
http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file.../8/whitney.jpg
This is my 0.1 Het axanthic.. Her snout coloring is way different and almost looks raw but that's not the case.. her nose was totally fine, and the coloring was natural.. she had like a dark lip-stick appearance too. It was very pretty.

This is Tiny.. he was my 1.0 het axanthic. He was very bright and had some awesome speckling.
I miss them.. they ended up in horrible health from the person who got them from me and I am pretty sure they didn't recover. They were showing signs of viral or neurological issues, or I would have taken them back.. but I couldn't risk all my other snakes by bringing them back home :'(. It was heart breaking..

A dinker is an unusual looking normal that may or may not have something genetic going on inside. An animal worth holding on to, to breed out or "dinker" with to see if can pass on a visible genetic mutation.
if anyone else has a better explanation lease feel free, but that's how I define it.

I've posted this girl before, no new pics right now since she's going into a shed a looks normal.
She was advertised as a Pretty young female. So I'm always reminded of Michael Jacksons PYT song when I think about it lol.

That's a great explanation!
A dinker essentially is a normal that has some visual abnormalities. Also referred to as "het markers," these wildtype snakes with abnormal patterns or tints/hues are often bred to various recessive genes to see if they can be proved out as a carrier for a recessive gene.

Out of my five normals I would only consider two to be my own personal "dinkers":
Jionni, a little normal male. I have to say I think he'd make gorgeous babies with a Mojo girl, and will be searching for one in the future for him.
From April:
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...ril1220121.jpg
As a wee baby back in September '11:

And Cleo. Bought as a normal from a breeder who said that the person who he bought her from said she was het pied (didn't prove for the guy I bought her from so he let her go). I personally think she looks very ghosty, and I love her wonky pattern and very light colors. Any suggestions as to what I should pair her with based on her looks?

Yeah,.. Specter never crossed my mind. I have a YB male I can put her with when she's ready. I was thinking more along the lines of hooking her up with a Fire or Vanilla

Re: I Want To See You Dinkers!
The females banding is really cool.

Wow lots of amazing dinkers! I know once I start breeding (long term goal is super black pastel pieds) I'm deff going to breed a pied to my normal girl to see if she just might be a het pied.
I'll have to get some good pictures this weekend while I'm borrowing my dad's camera.
For now I have this:

Re: I Want To See You Dinkers!
Well I think I have shown my dinkers like crazy, and anybody who has been on this site for at least 6mo probably has seen them already; But I cant deny anybody asking to see dinkers.:P I will try to contain myself with all the pics I post.
This is my most recent Dinker, Picked him up last year as CH from Outback reptiles.
Hatchling Pic
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD531998.jpg
And him now, All that peachy orange on him as a hatchling is turning into a bright yellow.
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532467.jpg
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532475.jpg
These two are my oldest dinkers that I have finally gotten the ball rolling with.
Mom and pop
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532443.jpg
Mom,Pops and 4 of the 9 babies. The ones thats are bringing up all the questions in the clutch.
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532446.jpg
The 4 babies in side-by-side color comparison, this is only after 1 shed.
The one to the left seems to only have dads gene,Middle left seems to be a partial blackback but the color is unusually bright with a little pink( Flash probably washed it out).
The middle right has dads blackback and pattern but has a lot more pinkish/redish hues like mom.And the far right is an unusually bright 'normal'. I would have included a regular normal in the pic but it was hard enough to get these 4 to sit still as it was:P

Another shot in different order.
