Could this be a touched up photo? Im still skeptical.

I want to know what Jeff Corwin has to say about this?

It almost look's like one of Wizill's creations with his paint pro.

Yeah, and they don't supply any type of measuring devices to show, or even compare his size to.

If anything, I think we can safely say that the size and girth of that snake is impressive, but not record breaking. It looks more like a 20 or maybe 30ish foot snake to me.

Relative to spectators... I'm still not buying it. It is big tho, but 49 feet? Naw, 30 max. Well, then again, a not is not in the pic. I wanna see it come to America for some proper care. Needs to be completely flushed for parasites, bred with fluffy, and bam you got a giant line of retics. I just don't wanna see it die due to lack of care.

Wild caught & Put in a box.
I think the best thing to do (totally my own opinion) would be to id chip it, and radar it everyday in the wild (from once it came) to better study the species in their native habitat.
    just my own idea
    thanks

What get's me is that one of the articles said that it was considered a God to the people where it was found. IF it was a God, why would they allow it to be taken? Just wondering

I cant get the dad blamed video to show the picture. I get the sound of the man talking, but no pic. So it must be so big that it ate the camera.

OK, i think I did it right-- according to the measurement given.. 6.5 to 7 meters. It comes out to like 23 foot. K, if I am wrong, someone correct me.

    39.37 inches = 1 meter

    x 7

    --------
    275.59 inches

    divided by 12 =

22.96 ft. (average of 23 foot)

Reading the story, it is very fishy if you know what I mean. So, 49 ft python - I think NOT!

Yeah, and even supposing that maybe they just brain-farted and thought that a centimeter was nearly the same size as an inch, in which case they would have calculated that 650 cm would equal 650 inches, or about 54 feet. Still doesn't jive.

Anyone else find their hemming and hawing about how the snake's size changes depending on how recently it's fed or when the last shed was, etc. amusing?

Personally, I think they were measuring the snake with the same ruler that many guys measure their "manhood" with...
