My First BP and Home-Made Enclosure
This is Suzie, she was given to me 4 months ago, I've never owned a snake before but after reading a TON on this website Ive learned a whole lot about BP. Now Im in love, what a wonderful pet to own!!! She came to me in a 20Gal tank with just a heat lamp and a half log she could not even fit inside of. Still not really knowing a whole lot, I knew this was no way to treat such a beautiful animal. So I built her this Enclosure from scratch out of a dresser, never done anything like this but I figured I would give it a try. This was such a fun project and overall I am pleased with how everything turned out. The lights are LED and can change any color I want. I keep them white during the day and then after dinner I change it to red or a dark blue. I know Suzie loves it over her 20Gal tank she came to me in!! :) Hope you enjoy! Oh the reason there is a lock on the glass is not to keep people from getting in, its to keep her from getting out. She figured out how to open the sliding glass by putting her belly on the glass then falling causing the glass to open. Definitely lives up to the "Escape Artist" reputation!! I have a couple good pix of her in the act. lol

I would put another hide in there as well. they really should have 2 identical hides (one on hot side, one on cool side)
The log on the right side is actually is insulated and contains a heat lamp, the ceramic ones. Its the 100W and there is a thermostat on the back side to regulate the temp. I'll work on making her another hiding spot. Thanks for the advice. :)

I made that hiding spot using a dryer vent frame and then used that Gap foam stuff then painted it. Ill get another dryer vent and make another one for her.

No way at all that she could get in? As you have already seen they are crafty little buggers.
It is a very interesting idea, I have never seen anything like this before.
Yes both ends are screened off. and completely sealed. Its a pain in the butt to change the bulb, lot of work goes into that part but worth it.

I do find her climbing every night. There are a couple spots that she likes to climb to and hang out. She also loves to soak in the water about once a month. she submerges her whole body in the water and takes a bath. Pretty cool to watch her. Humidity in the tank is just fine so I think she may just enjoy doing this every now and again. She will also do it before a shed which obviously is great for me because she does most the work in softening up and moisturizing her own skin!

The enclosure is gorgeous! Are the sides all homemade? I'm so jealous! Just a couple things (I apologize if I'm restating things you already know, but visibility also helps any new keepers reading the thread):
Is that vine/log piece in the center solid? I can't tell if the hole on top goes in deep or not. It may be worth sealing so the snakes don't get hurt trying to squeeze in. They like tight spaces, so they'd probably try! Do you have other hides in this enclosure? Are they built in to the walls, or did you just put them in after pictures?
Have you quarantined your pied before putting him in with your original snake? Quarantine should last at least 1-3 months depending on who you ask, because RIs, mites, and other maladies are much slower to become apparent in snakes. Most people prefer to keep new individuals in a separate room- not just a separate tank.
Which leads me to my last suggestion- make sure you're aware of the risks of housing snakes together if that's what you want to do. It's much harder to tell if one or both snakes are sick, or keep tabs on their health altogether. Who pooped? Who regurgitated that meal? There's also higher risk of transferred disease, having unwanted babies, stressing sensitive snakes to the point of hunger strikes, etc. Full disclosure: I hope you'll separate them and build another awesome enclosure for us to admire!! :)

You did a fabulous job on that!!! Incredible enclosure!! How long did it take you to do that?

Thank you! Yes he was in another tank for about 8 weeks before I introduced them. There are tons of built in hiding places for them. One of the things I did was extended the depth of the tank. Giving them a little more space inside there. The final dimensions ended up being 65Lx35Wx20D. You can't see it (intentionally) but its also heated by a PRO heat panel mounted on the ceiling and controlled by a thermostat. Everything in the tank is solid and secured for them to "play" on. One thing I've learned is they love exploring and are always climbing around on the plants so I made sure everything is secured. They get along very well so far no issues eating and I staggered their eating schedule to kind of help me keep track of their bowl movements and what not. So far everything is going great but I am on the lookout to find another nice piece of furniture that I can convert so they both have their own mansion to live in. :-) thank you for the compliments
