Beware of Bill Hudson/ Ecomorph reptiles
Hello, Im just informing anyone who is thinking of doing business with Bill Hudson or has done business with him to please look at the fauna classifieds BOI before doing so or continuing to. Just a heads up.
-
Why? Have you had a bad experience?
I bought the best quality female Black Pastel I've ever seen from him. He has been nothing but helpful when I have any questions. I've seen his snake room and he keeps everything very clean. I would definitely do buisness again with him in the future.

You can't just come here and say that without something to look at. Post some info please. Some Bpnet members hardly ever go to fauna. Post the link. Something.

If you're talking to Jason, then that's your first problem. I've had all sorts of problems during a transaction for a lesser. He gave me a mite infested snake. Found out the hard way in my quarantine rack where the snake was housed by itself. I wrote a polite email stating to check his snakes for mites because the snake I bought from him had any. Jason denied having mites in his collection and said it was from my snakes.... Well, at the time, I only had one other snake and he was mite free and far away from the quarantine rack. This particular snake from Jason also happens to be my most picky eater. Jason stated he would eat rats weekly with no hesitation. This snake didn't eat the first month. My husbandry is spot on so I thought maybe the snake just needs time adjusting to a new home. Nope. This guy is the only snake in my collection who goes off feed every few months. Between the mites and picky eater status, Jason was telling me I was wrong. Eventually he just ignored my calls and emails. Even with simple advice emails, Jason would be rude. From my encounter with him, he seems more interested in his profit rather than snakes. I was a newbie at the time and he couldn't give sound advice without giving poor excuses. I've also heard in passing from a few people that Jason is a big liar... From my experience with him, I doubt his credibility as well....
Anyway, Bill has always emailed me promptly withot any problems. I was set to buy a fire het clown or some other het clown morph in March. We have been discussing this new transaction for at least 2-3 months prior. He suddenly dropped off the radar. It's very out of character for him not to answer calls, texts, emails, etc. It makes me think something drastic is happening in his personal life. Even a mutual friend who would speak to him weekly can't reach him.
Also, you mentioned the hets you bought from him. Do they shed clear? Clear shed is a trait of the ghost/hypo gene. I'm not sure if all hets show this, but some hets and all visuals will. And how many times have you bred these hets? If only once, then you need to keep trying. It can take up to 3 breedings for a visual to come out of a het to het breeding. It could be that you just had very bad odds. I read a thread last year about someone buying a group of hets. They didn't prove out for him the first 2-3 breedings so he sold them. Another guy tried them and didn't get any visuals so he sold them too. The third guy proved them out. Just goes to show a group of hets can take more than one season to prove.
I wish you luck on your ghost projects. Hope you can get papers for them and a visual soon.

I checked the first link posted and there is a bad guy thread on Bill with a slew of other people chiming in to retract their previous good guy threads on him. All of these people were eventually screwed over by this Bill person and no one has produced a visual from his so called hets. He also appears to be a liar who uses the names of well known breeders to try to convince people of false facts he has made up to sell misrepresented animals.
This is just what I gather from the thread but it is not someone I would do business with after reading everything.

Here are the direct links to Bill's BOI threads. I started one of them as a good guy thread and then it turned into a bad guy thread. People came on and started explaining how Bill had lied and sold them hets that werent hets. Bill fell off the world and no one could contact him. Turns out that he moved to washington and changed all his numbers and took down his website. Now that his name is tarnished he is trying to get local breeders up there to broker out his animals because he cant sell them himself. This angers me because he owes me a breeder female mojave and has a pastel lesser of mine. If you read through the BOIs I posted you will see his dealings with me and the other people. I had nothing but respect for Bill, even called him friend. This has really upset my wife and I...

Ok. I see what the OP means now.
I didn't read the whole thread because I thought there was only one page. My mistake.
I high respect Robert Seib. Not only as a keeper-breeder, but as a biologist and professor in Herpetology. My female mojave was produced by him. I can't believe that Bill tried to steal from him and say that Robert stole from him. Robert has a lot more higher end snakes than Bill has so Bill's plea makes no sense.
Guess Bill really is a bad guy. That's a shame. My black pastel is a real stunner.
To Zombie, is there anyway you can get your pastel lesser back? Can you file a law suit? I saw pictures of her on your facebook page when you first got her, she is gorgeous.

I doubt it. After court costs and all other associated fees it would probably be cheaper to buy another one. I just can't believe he would do that to heather and I. I am sorry he did it to anybody but I am unsure of how there personal relationships were with him. We really believed he was our friend. He owes me that pastel lesser and a breeder Mojave female, and I am supposed to have full access to that genetic stripe male because I have 2 het females. It just sucks. I am a big boy, I will get over it, but the fact that the pastel lesser is technically my wife's and she only let her go because we were getting her back. I am hopefully getting his phone number and I will contact him myself...

There hasn't been much more activity on the boi threads about Bill, but I know he didn't make things right be me anyway. Just giving an update.
Also, I do have to say that my experience with Jason Amos has only been good. He has gone out of his way to help the few that were screwed over by Bill and he didn't have to. The trades I have done with him were awesome and I'm very pleased. He has some amazing animals and I look forward to doing more business with him.

Re: Beware of Bill Hudson/ Ecomorph reptiles
Felt it neccessary to chime in on jason amos. I am sorry that a bad experience has presented itself, but i must disagree with the claim that the quality of both jason's snakes and communication abilities are lacking. I have personally seen his snake room and all of his snakes and no problems were ever aparent to me. Jason has high dollar snakes, it wouldnt make too much sense for him to not take care of them. Jason has held, shipped, and sold snakes for me from his place and all transactions has gone smoothly with no problems. Alot of my moves in the snake world have been because of him, he is always willing to give advice and help me out when he can.:sweeet:

Re: Beware of Bill Hudson/ Ecomorph reptiles
This post is for jason Amos and the lady who is bad mouthing him. I've been buying snakes from him for over a year close to 2 years now without one issue. I've seen ALL of his snakes and not one is sick. I don't beleive that he would have mites due to the high dollar snakes he has in his collection. Ive also seen his snakes at random times and he is always proud to show me his snakes. I'm constantly asking Jason questions from breeding to identifying different morphs. Ball pythons go off feed and anyone who has them should know this it's normal. I respect Jason as a person and asca breeder and on that note I'll be picking up more snakes from him this weekend. Oh btw all these snakes are mite free and eating well I know this because I inspected them last week. So untill I see proff from Nikki I don't buy it.

I wasn't bad mouthing for one. I was recalling my true experience with him and don't see a reason to lie. I live locally to him and the actual first meeting went fine. It's everything that followed that was bad. He actually admitted later he had mite infested delicups.
If you want to read all my email correspondence with Jason, PM me. Like I said, he just disappeared and stopped responding to my emails and texts. He offered to show me his snakes to prove that his collection was clean, but he never followed through. I asked him for help because it was the first time I ever had mites and he left it hanging. There are other minor issues with the snake, but it's been more than a year since that transaction and I would rather just forget it and move on. I guess I was unlucky. I truly wish I could say he was as gracious to me as he was you, but I cannot.

Yes, balls go off feed. But for such a young snake, it's not normal. It's more common for older snakes who fast for the breeding season.
The snake in question is over a year old and still only around 200 grams. He has been a problem feeder since day 1 and refuses food more than half the time. He may eat once a month if I'm lucky. My other snakes that are a few months younger than him are 900 grams already.
I'm happy that your snakes are mite free and eating. That's great news.
If you had/have a great experience, nobody is stopping you from buying from Jason. Mine wasn't that great, so I just choose not to do anymore transactions with him.

I have to add my 3 years + experience with Jason and I just want to say I have had great experiences with him and he takes exceptional care of his snakes. I wouldn't even hesitate to buy/trade a snake with him because I have seen firsthand the numerous times that I have been there, how pristine everything is and healthy.
I have one of his lessers and she is my best eater. I still have a black pastel girl that I bought from Bill and she is pretty but hasn't eaten in months and she is probably 400 grams. Unfortunately I think that is the nature of balls to do their own thing!!!
Sorry if I have run ons as I had to type this on my phone because my work blocks this site once I try to log on. Govt computers!!! V/r Paige
