Clarice in her new setup. I removed the aspen and replaced with 100% cypress mulch and some some moss. I covered half of the screen top with cling wrap. The humidity shot up from 40% to 65% in about 5 minutes.

Humidity's at about 65-70% right now. I just put the moss in today and gave the cage a good misting.

Little on the high side, but I believe it's better than the bone dry setup she was in. It'll come down some too. I'd like to get it around 50-60%.

    Does that sound about right?

And, to top things off, after putting her in an enviroment with higher humidity, bumped up the temperature (just a bit to around 85-90), replaced the bone dry aspen with 100% cyrpess mulch, gave her a warmer heatlamp, and turned up the heating pad one notch........she finally ate! I don't know if she was just ready to or all of the above ingredients compelled her to hunger. I'm just thrilled that she has come off of her hunger strike.

Here is the "finished product" of her new setup. She likes it and I'm thrilled that she likes it.

Your BP is a happy camper Marcus.
Say, what type of heat bulb do you use, and how well does the heat balance out?

Thanks for the positive feedback. She does seem happier. She finally ate and wolfed down 2 adult f/t mice.

As far as what type of bulb, I'd have to go and get the box but it's one that I bought from the local petstore "designed" for reptiles. It's 40 or 60 watts (I can't remember off the top of my head) and seems to be working well. The only thing I can't figure out is what's the difference between an $11 red light bulb from the pet store and a $2 red bulb from Walmart.

    Anybody know?

Also, it's keeping the temperature in her enclosure around 80-90 degrees (depending on when the heater in the house kicks in and heats up the room) Humidity is staying around 70%
