    Burns on belly
Ok, so i was told that the pastel I might get on Friday has old burn scars on her belly and tail. She also said that she looks healthy and very alert so im not sure wether or not to get her now. She's a nice pastel sitting around 1100g and looks like she's holding her color pretty good.
Should I still get her? Would you still get her?

Ask for pictures of these supposed scars. If the damage is minimal, scars won't hurt her. However, you should be able to tell if they are recent or severe. If there are a lot of large scars, or they don't look well healed, I'd pass.

Looks somewhat recent, not too severe, and should heal up nicely.

Given the redness of the areas those are not "old scars", they are actually still healing.

Depends on a lot of thing in my opinion price, guarantees.

Personally I would not get an animal that still has an ongoing issue but in the end the choice is YOURS.

I wouldnt get her. Those wounds look fairly recent imo. Ask him how old the "old scars" are. Sounds like hes lying a bit, i dont like doing business with shady people...

I thought they were recent when I saw the pic too. Doesn't look too bad though. If I get her I'm straight up trading a smaller (600g) female pastel for her. If I got her would I need to do anything or will it heal up on its own?

Well my foster BP was bitten by a rat on the back and was severely dehydrated so I kept her in an extra humid environment till her next shed and wala! The healing wound was healed. That's just what helped me, not sure if it would help you.

I may not know as much as other people here, but I'm assuming that the value of the larger snake is that it's breeding size? Otherwise why are you considering this trade?

On that note, why would the owner be offering a larger snake for a smaller snake of the exact same morph and gender, unless he knew there was something wrong with his?

The nature of this trade just seems fishy to me, but maybe there's something I'm ignorant about *shrug*

    My inexperienced $0.02.

Why would that guy trade down 500grams? Same morph, same sex, but diff weights. That makes no sense at all. Id really stay away from him. That just shows that something is wrong with the snake. Plus it seems like hes lying about the age of the scars/burns...
    The sketchy deal seems sketchy...

    I'd walk away.
That tail looks like it lost it's tip from a neglected stuck shed.
I'm guessing the reason to look at a larger same morph snake is to breed sooner.
That animal looks and sounds like it was really neglected at one point, there could be many other hidden issues. She might not even be able to reproduce.

Ok. So the lady that I got mine from text me this week and said she really misses her cause it was her first BP. So the lady picked that one up today not knowing it was burnt and I was going to trade on Friday. Anyways I told her she can buy this one back and I'll find another. As always thanks for the advice!

Yup, I was thinking walk away. Those burns are recent. Also the tail has issues from possibly stuck sheds. If you are going to get a snake, pass on one with known problems, and find a healthy animal to get instead.
