Hillbilly Hot Dogs & Five Guys Burger & Fries
First off, we started off at my aunts house in Charleston, West Virginia then we left there and went to Pt. Pleasant to the Mothman Museum for our neighbor, then we lost her in Pt. Pleasant because she likes to venture around but as we were going across the bridge toward Huntington, she took the right toward Chilicothe, Ohio and we had to stop and give her directions back to WV! But after that we took to the 20-30 minute drive to Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Lesage, West Virginia, not far from Huntington. It was very AWESOME, a wide variety of "weenies" they had everything from pizza on a dog, to nachos on a dog, to banana splits (not on the dog) to sitting in a bus eating, and being able to sign anywhere inside! That was yesterday, today my uncle came to get me and we went to the new Five Guys Burger & Fries down the road, and for the money, you got it back in taste! If you ever get the chance, go to Hillbilly Hot Dogs, they have locations in Huntington, Lesage, and I believe Barboursville. Five Guys have locations around the United States, and that was a mini "trip report"

We just got a Five Guys here and they weren't bad but I have to say for the taste and price I'll take In N Out in a heartbeat.

    In-N-Out > Five Guys IMO

Never have had in-n-out, sounds kinda dirty lol. We dont have any up here.
We do have 5 guys though. By far the best burger around. Although Wendys baconators are pretty good too. Im not a huge fast food person bc i think its kinda nasty, but 5 guys isnt really "fast food" in my eyes bc of how good it is!

They just opened a five guys in the next town over, and before that I'd never heard of them. Great burgers! And the soda machines were insane. Very good idea to eat immediately though. On the half hour drive home things got a little soggy and less appetizing

There are a couple Five Guys in my area and I've been a couple times. I have to say they are delicious and a pretty good value.

I must say, the Ohio River is extremely wide.

Just went to Five Guys for the first time after everyone kept saying how great they were. Was not impressed by the burger at all, the fries were okay. For the price, would not go out of my way to go back, although the people were extremely freindly and the place was pristinely clean.

Five guys burger was no different than a dollar menu burger from mcdonalds except 4 times the cost for the same size(there was no difference in taste either), the fries were very tasteless and burnt as well. The way people talked it up had me thinking I was going to have the best burger of my life. It was a huge disappointment.

I will say, it could be the Five Guys I went to... in other words, I went a place that does lousy work, or had a bad cook on the grill that day.

I probably won't go back there, but if I had a shot at a different Five Guys, I might try it, to see if it was the one franchise... or if it's just not all it's hyped up to be.

I wouldn't call the burger I got a "dollar McBurger", but it wasn't any better than the Wendy's thick burgers imo. The fries did taste like the oil was old or overheated too.

They use peanut oil so if you aren't used to that it can taste a little off. My fiance loves their burgers but isn't a fan of the fries because of the oil and how thick they are.

Peanut oil is also easier to scorch. The fries definitely had that old-oil or slight scorch taste. Could even be that they don't properly drain and clean the fryer. Lots of ways to make deep fryer cooked food taste off.

OMG all this five guys hatin!
I honestly think the one that ive been to in CT was very good. Its the one in Waterford, CT. If any of you make your way up here be sure to stop in and try theirs!
Maybe the franchises near you just sucks!

5 Guys is awesome! A heart attack in a bag but it's so good and you always get way more fries than you could possibly eat.
