Gluttonous snakes
Does anyone have any ball pythons that you feel would eat everyday if you offered until they just couldn't swallow another rat?
My mojave and my bumblebee I'm pretty sure would. Both take F/T too. Best snakes ever <3
Koko will act like shes starving and "beg" for food 10 minutes after eating a small rat. I've been pretty sure she's going to bite me a few times, she gets so excited thinking I'm feeding her.
I know this is not something that should be done frequently, but I've fed her and Grace the last 3 nights in a row (small rat 1st night, hopper 2nd night, then another small the 3rd) because others were feeling peckish and wouldn't take them and Grace and Koko were looking at me every time like they would have nervous breakdowns if I threw out the rats I was offering instead of feeding them. Koko was so excited on the 3rd night I had barely gotten her tub open and she had grabbed it and constricted it in her water. I looked in a few minutes later and she had had to give up on it cuz it was now in the bottom of her water and couldn't swallow it. She was just staring at me like all hope was lost. I took it out and warmed it back up and offered it again AWAY from her water and did the same omg-I'm-starving-to-death grab and and had fully eaten it in under 2 minutes. She keeps this up I'm considering renaming her "Fata**"
After the 3rd night of being fed Grace curled up but Koko was "begging" and acting like she's starving again 15 minutes later. I seriously think she would eat until the last rat's butt was sticking out of her mouth and still be trying to swallow another.
I'm gonna let them both chill and digest at least a good 5 days now. I wish all snakes liked to eat like this

Thats a whole lot of food. Should prob give them a couple extra days to digest.

My Cinny thinks he is a BOA, he is a grabage can. I feed live so when one of my girls refuses a meal he is always "willing" to snatch it up. Never gets fed on consecutive days though, just saves me from buying rats specifically for him.

My spider is a absolute hog, and I love her for it! She's gonna make some nice bee's!

All 4 of mine eat every week for me f/t. The only time ive had one skip was my pastel girl when i first got her. She struck the rat into her water bowl then decided she didnt want it.
My cinny boy is especially aggressive though lol. Eats f/t or live, mice or rats, rat scented jelly donuts, etc...

That's Koko, I really think she would eat until the last rat's butt was sticking out of her mouth and still be trying to swallow another.
It surprises me too, when we first got her and a couple others as babies she was addicted to mice and it took a while scenting just to get her to touch rats and then she was weird about F/T for a little bit. She had her own bag of dirty mouse litter for all her meals for a while. I thought then she might be a problem eater. Boy, was I wrong.

My spinner is like that eats EVERYTHING every time shes growing incredibly fast! 140 grams in Jan 300 grams empty today i hope she keeps it up 100g a month would be great!

My pastave girl is that way. When I fed them on Monday, I had the plate with her second rat on it and she tried to drag the rat she was already working on, out to where the second was laying. It was cute but I made her eat one at a time. Last night, she got all excited when I went in to do my evening check. I was all worried about having balls because of the feeding issues I'd read about. She's as bad as my corns though and they'll eat anything in any amount if I'd let them. I'll have to post video of my most aggressive feeders. He'll grab my finger when I get him out on feeding day (the corns are fed in separate containers), eventually figure out it's not food, grab and coil the f/t meal, gobble them down, and then grabs my finger again on the way back to his cage. It's ridiculous!
I wouldn't mind the weight gain either though as my pastave put on 125 g. the first month (empty weights). She's on track to beat that this month and she's not fat. I swear she's growing noticeably every week!

I just got my first Spider Female today, and after long talks with the person i got her from and setting up her enclousure to a T, to mimic where she came from. She ate an Adult mouse for me 2 hours after being out of the shipping box. I have never seen a Ball get so comfortable in there home so quickly, it was like she never had the stress of being shipped. I just could not resist feeding my baby today, seeing as it is her normal feeding day anyways. I can tell she is going to be a big girl!!

I did an average on part of my collection...I looked at 27 different snakes...everything from babies to adults and did a 6 month average after offering food every week and the average came out to 91 grams per month from June 2011 till Nov 2011...fastest was 1046 grams in 6 months from a Spider female and 144 grams in 6 months from an breeder Albino male...guess he likes to watch his figure.
Feeding to much to any snake too fast can cause prolapse because they cant properly digest there food and can shorten their life span...their metabolism needs time to settle between meals...no one likes a fat snake with a small head....

All my BP's have gone through their "pig out" stages, but it never lasts. I figure they know best. :P

yep both of my cinnamons will devour anything i stick in their tubs. including fingers and hands lol. on the other hand both of my pinstripes only eat when ever the heck the want. and its never on a schedule that i want them to. i'd deffinitly give them a couple extra days to digest. I never feed consecutive days. but everyother on ones im trying to get some size on. but i give 5 days off after 5 times of every other. idk if its right but it works for me. still fairly new to balls.
