    My First Babies are Dinkers
Well I have good news, its Day 53/54:P and babies are pipping:banana:.That sounds actually kinda early to me as I thought eggs don't usually pip till 57/58 but the babies look ok.
I'll admit I caved in on day 50:oops:, and cut a couple eggs cause they were very very dimpled and it had me worried that the babies wouldn't have space.
The egg that got busted open a bit on day 45 also stuck his head out today, though his egg is a bit more gunky everybody looks fine, theres still 3 eggs I haven't cut yet.
So far it looks like the daddy dinker is proving out.:D The babies have blushed heads like mom and pop tho. Also please excuse the pics, This is pretty much a basic point and shoot camera that is also like 5 years outdated.

Here is the one thats been open since day 45. I'm probably going to name popper if its a boy or mary poppins if its a girl.:P I can see its got the squiggles on it like the dad.
    http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532282.jpg

Another one that looks like it also has the squiggles.
    http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532287.jpg

This one looks like its going to be a normal, but it's still got blushing on its head.
    http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532286.jpg

Another normal, this one I'm a bit concerned about as I haven seen his head he isn't facing upward yet, but definitely still alive.
    http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532291.jpg

And the final egg for now, there still 4 more not shown or pipped yet.So far there does look to be a distinguishable color difference between the babies, the normals so far look like normals and the dinker babies don't have much yellow in their color, but since colors are the last thing to come in fully on a baby, I'll we waiting to see when they crawl out.More pic to come

Here are the other 3, seems a couple were pretty eager to meet me at the entrance:P
I'm really excited to see how they color up, cause both parents were dinkers. Mom was my CH burgundy, and dad was my WC blackback.

And heres mom, I would take a fresh pic of her but shes in shed right now, she should be out of it by time the babies shed. This pic was before ovulation and has a lot of her glow, but it still captures her color.

Very cool! We actually have a Dinker clutch due to hatch in less than 2 weeks. Our Dinker looks pretty similar to your darker one. I'm super excited now!!! can't wait to see yours out of the eggs.

Heres the first one out, pipped its own egg last night and is already out the egg 24hours later. I have a question tho is it alright to keep them in the incubator till their first shed or do they need to go straight into their own tub? I was planning to keep them together in the bator till they all came out their eggs or is that bad?
    http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...9/SD532316.jpg
Sorry for the shadowy pic, I tend to keep things dark when I check the babies and only use a flashlight for lighting.

Alright ,the last one finally came out the egg. The lightest of them weighs 59g and the largest is 68g.
There seems to be a weird color difference between some of them, some are really dark like the dad while others are considerably lighter but still have squiggles and partial blackback , maybe mom did pass on some visual traits or some of her color?. This will be it for the pics until they shed, and those will be put over in the BP pics section.I dont want to clog up the breeding section:P

The brightest baby has a minor kink in his back near his tail that I'm sure it is a result of the 2day power outage back on day 3 of their incubation when the temp flux was bad.I'm glad none others were affected, but his little kink doesn't look like its going to cause issues. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...s/SD532355.jpg

Very cool! Those three are definitely darker than the normals! I love the really light one!

As for your question, I keep mine together in the incubator until they all shed. Once they all shed I put them in their own tubs filled will crumpled newspaper and almost all of them have eaten the very next day.
