Favorite soda?
While I am a fan of most cola's, oranges and grapes, Some people find it odd when they see me drinking cream soda or ginger ale as these are my favorites.
What are yours?
-
I stopped drinking soda cold turkey about 2 months ago, and I really do not miss it.
Before that I was going through Coke Zero like nobody's business.
-
Coca Cola is my favorite. What can I say, I'm a Son of the South :D
-
I love Ginger Ale, the spicier the better. It's hard to find a good one that the grocery store always has in stock.

I'm a grape soda fiend, but it's limited to special occasions (if I bought it regularly, I'd be another 20 lbs easily  self control through limitation). I once had some soda that my friends were calling ginger beer. It wasn't alcoholic, just much more spicy/gingery than most ginger ales. LOVED it, loved it more mixed with Kraken rum, but that takes it out of the plain sodas category ;)

Grape soda, if I drink it. Granted I haven't had soda since December when I discovered it was a huge chunk of money I was spending on "groceries"

I know what you mean. If I buy 2 soft drinks a day 5 days a week at between $1.49 and $1.79, that becomes a huge chunk of change on a yearly basis

Dr. Pepper, root beer, and mtn dew

I've gotta be the party pooper here. I hate pop! I was never able to get into it. Give me water or juice. :D

I'm *mostly* with you there. I enjoy the occasional soda (maybe 1-2 a month, if that), but mainly I drink juice (preferably grapefruit) or water. In the event that I do drink a soda, it's usually Sprite/Sierra Mist or Coke/Pepsi. I really don't draw a big distinction between the brands. Sure, Pepsi is a little bit sweeter than Coke, but I like them both about the same.
All that said, ginger beer is a real treat when I get the chance to have it.

1: Dr Pepper
2: Inca Cola
3: Cactus Cooler

I think I have more Pepsi Max in my system than blood.
Being Diabetic with a sweet tooth, I drank Diet coke whenever I was out (Coke Zero tastes too watered down) and it wasn't sweet enough. Pepsi Max is sugar free and tastes better than full sugar Pepsi :D
NOMMM PEPSI.
I also raaaather enjoy Fizzy Mango :) Nummy ^_^

I get 12pk of my Lemon Lime or Black Cherry Pop for $3 plus deposit.
If not drinking that im drinking V8 Fusions

I tried the V8 fusions for the first time the other day. I had a strawberry banana one and a blurberry pomegranite one. They were actually better tasting than i thought theyd be especially since the little can had a full serving of fruit and vegetables.
What flavor do you like the best? I thought the blueberry/pom was a bit better.

Re: Favorite soda?
Dublin Dr. Pepper! Until the jackals at the corporate Dr. Pepper office shut them down... :tears:
Now, anything made with pure sugar cane.
-
Coke...but usually only when out to eat. It's so much better "on tap" than from a bottle or can...
Here's a twist...how about Slurpee flavors? Coke is still my #1, but Sprite and Mt Dew Slurpee's are a close second...especially in summer...

My personal favorite is A&W on tap, even though it's hard to find around here.
Canned soda it's Mountain Dew Pitch Black. Weird I know, but it's soooo very good.

Why do people think soda tastes better on tap? Ive never noticed a difference really. Is it like fresher or something?

I like the ice. I know I could pour it over ice at my place, but that's just too much work :D

Because soda lines are usually dirty and gross and lined with a sugary, bacteria filled film that adds that little extra something:gj:...trust me, I've cleaned enough of them.

What is it stored in on tap at the store. I assume something similar to a keg?
Wouldnt the soda pumped into bottles/cans be the same that goes into the kegs or whatever goes to the store?

In restaurants and stores, the soda comes as syrup in a bag in a box. A CO2 tank is hooked up to a water line to carbonate it, and the soda bags are hooked up to a separate line. Ratio of syrup to carbonated water are set, and they run to the tap together.

Mexican coca cola in the bottle is my fave (Real sugar)
Also I do have this weird caffeine delivery problem. I hate making coffee so will get diet mountain dew in the morning often to stave off a withdraw headaches. Not really the best tasting beverage tho.

It's the bacterial film that gives it that kick... :gj:

I loved going to the tienda in Mexico for a bag of Coke, they wouldn't let us leave the store with the bottles...:gj:.
Coke in Japan kinda sucks, it's real sweet in Papua New Guinea, and it's kinda different/weird in Europe. Nothing like here at home...

I have the same problem. On days i work i drink a cup of coffee to get me going. Maybe like 12oz. On my days off i have to drink something with caffeine in it or i get a terrible headache. It sucks haha

I suppose you could, but it would take some planning and the initial work would be fairly expensive. Then you'd have to source your C02 tank and 30 lb. 'bag in a box' soda syrup.
-
I quit drinking any soda or pop over 8 months ago. Did it cold turkey and I couldn't be happier. It was expensive and so fattening its not even funny!! Not to mention bad for your teeth!
But before that when I was drinking 2 or 3 pops a day it was coke, rootbeer, dr pepper or jolt cola

Then sourcing them is not an issue, haha...I've never been in those stores.

Well, I can't say about anything else, but A&W on tap is much creamier and richer in taste, almost feels thick in your mouth, and it's very smooth.
Bottled or canned A&W is thinner in flavor and usually has a bit of a bite from the heavy carbonation. On tap is very different in taste. Even my kids noticed the difference the first time we took them to and A&W stand and tried it.
