Ok, here's a odd question. When u put ur BP's in the tub, what (if anything) do u put in the water besides the snakes? :)

For normal baths (like, just to get their pee and poo smell off of them) just use plain ol' luke warm water.

If you mean soaps or stuff like that, I have never used anything except plain water. If you want to make your own piebald, splash some bleach on it in a few areas, and voila! A piebald!

    JUST KIDDING!!!!!!
DON'T put bleach on your snake!

LOL Randy. NOT good advice! I tried that once and let me tell you, that was definately one of the worst ways to lose $7,500!!!

    ;)

Luckily I knew better than to put bleach on a snake lol :)

But i was just wonderin if there are any soaps or nething to use, or just let them swim around in the tub.

Just lettin' them swin around in the tub will do just fine. But remember, don't fill the tub up alot, I only do about 2-3 inches of water.

some morphs are a result of years of work
i think that also plays a factor in pricing
that and they now people will pay for it.

Alright Randy if you say so....
Hey why is my bp squirming like that?

    That's so wrong...
We just put them in luk warm water.
When the monitors go in for there baths they get a nice scrub down, you should see me and a six foot nile during bath time, My husband practicly rolls on the floor laughing at me, The nile loves to be scrubbed with the brush but also loves to try and kill me at the same time..What fun Whoo hooo..lol

I didn't have a big breakout of mites, I only saw one. But you know the saying, when you see one, there's more.... SO, everyone got a bath and a Black Knight spray down. Whenever I get a new addition in, he goes in the living room rather than the snake room, gets sprayed with Black Knight before I even take him out. ;) It's worked like a charm, so far.

I think I just received one that had mites, because the one I saw it on had only been in my house for about a day. Oh, well. It's over now. :knock on wood:

I just used Dove "no fragrance" hand soap (from a regular store) in that case. Otherwise, yep just use water.

Yeah, this site does offer more of a community type feel then most other sites around. Our relatively small size and many active members keep it going. Everyone is willing to help and nobody is treated like crap for asking basic questions.

Lets hope when we're big it'll stay that way.

OK.....put the kleenex up before you end up on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

But all kidding aside..........Pass me a kleenex *sniffle, sniffle*

It's good to have a site that you can go to and get the information you need, and still be able to crack a funny every now and then.

also we don't have to worry about some guy comming here and totally moking you for not knowing something
some people on other sites feel the need to bash you because you posted a "newby" question
they seem to all have forgotten that they too were once a beginner

HEY EVERYONE, GLAD I FOUND THIS WEB SITE!
I RECEIVED A PR OF BP FROM A FRIEND LAST YEAR CAUSE HE DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR THEM, AND I ALSO REAL RECENTLY DID A "SAVE" MISSION ON MY RED TAIL BOA. SO I HAVEN'T HAD MY SNAKES SINCE BABIES BUT THATS ALL RIGHT THOUGH, GOTTA LOVE 'EM!
I WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICS SOON, THE'RE SURE AWSOME ANIMALS!
MY MAIN CONCERN ON MY ONE OF THE BP'S NAMED SCAB, (SMALL CASE OF MITES BEFORE I GOT HIM) IM AFFAID HES BLIND! HES EYES NEVER HAVE SHED, BEFORE I HAD HIM AND SINCE I'VE HAD HIM, HES SHED ABOUT 4-5 TIMES AND EYES STILL LOOK AFUL! DOES THIS BOTHER ME MORE THAN MORE THAN THE SNAKE? I TRIED TO PULL SOME OFF ABOUT 2 MO AGO AND IT STARTED TO BLEED A SMALL AMOUNT, THEN I IMMEDIATLEY STOPED AND LET HIM HEAL AND NEVER TRIED AGAIN, I NEED HELP ON THIS ONE GUYS, SORRY FOR THE NOVEL OF A POST, OTHERS WILL BE SHORTER!:)

I think that if she have multiple layers of retain eye-caps you should make a trip to the vet. to see what you can do without hurting her like the last time. :)
or also the other thing that i would do while going to the vet is scrubing the eyes with a wet towel.
    hope this can help

IS IT BOTHERING THE SNAKE? OR DOES IT BOTHER ME MORE LOOKING AT IT?
I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE A REPTILE VET, HOW SHOULD I CHOOSE A GOOD VET FOR MY SNAKES?
  • 12-15-2003, 08:43 PM
    Jesús
Actually if the snake have to many retained eye caps she can't see really well or in the worst cases can causes blindness so actually is bothering the snake as much that is bothering you just looking at her.
You can search on the web for one close to your area. Or you can go to the closest cat and dog vet that you have and ask him for a good exotic vet. if he is a good doctor he will recommend you someone that can help you if he don't know how to work with reptiles.
    hope this help :D
