my baby chondro's enclosure. previously she was in a 10 gal tank and i moved her in here a couple weeks ago. above i have a 75 watt red bulb and a CHE. below is a monsoon misting system which has helped a lot with her sheds and looks pretty cool too. previously she was in a 10 gal tank.

i ve been meaning to work on putting in more horizontal perches but she loves the bamboo. she spends 80% of the time on the swirly bamboo and the rest hanging on the misting nozzles way up top lol.

    thoughts? ideas?how should i improve?

putting multiple snakes in the same cage, especially different species with very different husbandry is not a good idea

i figure with a temp gradient they'll hang out in different spots anyway. the baby chondro pretty much only hangs out up top. i really havent seen anyone do it but is it really that bad of an idea to put two species in the same enclosure even with sufficient space? ive got a 4x2x2 i plan on finishing that will probably e used in the future.

yes, it is a terrible idea... there are so many things that can go wrong...

the biggest issue is that the Bredli needs it much hotter than the GTP does plus the humidity/daily misting for the GTP really isn't great for the bredli.

then there is stress on both parties, one could eat the other, they would compete for the best spots (bredli are semi arboreal so they do climb if perches are available), size difference, etc... the list goes on and on

Not to mention if you have two males you increase the likelyhood of territory disputes. You increase your rate of disease transmission. And all the other things said before. They may both be the same genus but they are completely different snakes. GTP need their privacy, space, and humidity. Very easy to screw up your new chondro for the sake of adding a new snake....

My GTP at night goes to the bottom of her cage all the time so you never know. Definately not a good idea. However nice set up I think it would look even cooler if you put some type of cork bark or colored styrofoam background.
