What are the cheaper morphs on the market.Other than pastel.
Could you give me the morph and what they usually sell for.
-
It depends on what you mean by "cheap".
For $250-300 and under there are alot of morphs that are available.
Just browse thru kingsnake.com to get an idea of whats out there.

Black pastel, spider, pinstripe, mojave, het red, sable, male albinos, male butter/ lessers, orange ghost, and probably some others.
-
All depends on what you think cheap is AND what you want to make:gj:

I'd add fire and yellow belly to the list. I know there's many more, but those just popped into my mind.

This is true too, males are usually a lot cheaper.
(You didnt have to throw the OG in there though, that hurts a lot:tears::tears:)

Define cheap.
If you want a morph under $75, an ugly pastel is the only one you'll find.
Under $150 ? Under $250 ? Under $350 ? Under $1,000 ( which is cheap to the big guys )?

A male Yellowbelly can be $75 or lower here in Utah. It seems that in some locales, certain morphs are just cheaper than in other areas.
Het males tend to be cheap, too. $50 for a het albino, or het pied male... Probly some others, too.
-
Yeah a price point would help.
Quality morphs seem to start about $200ish

Re: What are the cheaper morphs on the market.Other than pastel.
I hate the term "cheap" - I mean - really hate it. To me, cheap means low quality.
Folks have already listed the more affordable morphs for you. You can get "cheap" if you don't care about quality - but if you plan to breed - be willing to wait for the best example of the mutation you can find and be willing to pay a little more for quality.
-
I agree that "cheap" is relative to the buyer. Also quality of color and pattern is also semi-relative... What I mean is your preference on color and pattern are going to differ from another breeder (thats why we get so many amazing morphs :P).
I like to start saving, and when I feel iv reached the budget i set, then ill look around for a while. If I dont find something I Love right away then ill keep adding to my budget until something comes along... and something always does. :D

Last year the OG females were around $750 so I got a het, AND a couple months ago I got a visual for $400:O
-
What you need to do is set a budget. Whatever you have to spend get the best example of the morph in your price range. But cheap is a loose term. If you want the best bang for your buck i would go black pastels. They sell fast. But if cheap is what your after then i wouldnt get into breeding. There is nothing cheap about breeding. The husbandry alone is nore expensive then any single gene morph your gonna find. Dot your eyes before you cross your tees

Not true at all, for the price of a champagne or desert which are single gene I can get a couple racks, t stats, tubs hides and snakes. Sorry not trying to get ya but the husbandry for a small breeding op doesn't have to cost that much.
-
For a small breeder the price of a champagne or desert is alot of money. And if it it wasnt then the post wouldnt be called whats the cheapest morph. Everyone knows if you get into breeding it starts snall and then it will snowball. Proper husbandry isnt cheap when you factor the price for racks, stats, equiptment, food then monthly operating costs. Factor in your electric bill costs etc.
