Cats or dogs??

So, reptiles and snakes aside. How many fur baby people are out there? Furbabies were my first love. Snakes came later. Just curious, if it boils down to it, are you a cat or dog person??

I have and love both. But I think when it really comes down to it, I would have to say cat person. They are just the best. Unconditional love from a sweet soft purring furball. :P

I like both, although we don't have either. I love dogs... As long as they are your dogs... :P Cats can be hit or miss as far as personality, though. Cat hair also irritates my eyes quite a bit so if we were to ever get one it would have to be a sphynx. Someday we will probably have at least one or the other, but we live in a small duplex and it wouldn't be fair to them to have to live in such close quarters.

So for now our "fur babies" are rats. They are as annoying and intelligent as a puppy and as stubborn as a cat and can roam happily inside small house and not feel too confined. :gj:

I'm a both person. A home isn't a home to me without either.

I love my cat. But I definitely vote dogs are better.
This is my baby. She was a rescue that was very VERY badly abused. She is the most sweet and loving dog I've ever known.

My wife's dog Rufus. Not the brightest mutt ever but one of the sweetest I've ever met; he loves her more than he does eating and that boy can put DOWWWWN some marshmallows, now, lol! Got him for our one year wedding anniversary and it's been downhill ever since, lmao! Hahahahahaha! My vote is for dogs, even after having had him.

Our ragdoll, Vinnie. He's the sweetest little soul I've ever met. Not a mean bone in his body. Loves belly rubs, following me around, and napping with us. It's hard not to love this guy.

Aww, he's beautiful. The purebreds have the best personalities, in my experience.

I have had a lot of experience with both, and dogs win by a country mile.(as long as it is a real dog, and not some little shaky thing that you dress up and carry in a purse) Dogs will always love you and be excited to see you when you get home. You can actually do things with dogs. Go to the park and play catch, hunt, hike, agility competitions etc. Cats are hit and miss with personality and they smell terrible.

I have snakes, one cat, and a dog. I am definitely a dog person though.

^^ Aussies are cool. I still think cats rule though. They don't smell. Purebreds have better personalities than most regular domestics, who can be hit or miss. Cats can curl up and sleep with you. Keep your lap warm. Play and do the craziest things. Mine likes to go places with me. I love to have a kitty in my lap to pet.

I raise German Shepherds - 100% West German, DDR and Czech working and show lines from VA and IPO/SchH titled dogs. My hubby and I work with them in agility, competitive obedience, and SchH. We also have a resident Australian Shepherd. :D

We have a cat and 2 sugar gliders too, and we love them, but we're definitely dog people!

I havent had a cat since i was 4 or 5 since i developed a severe allergy to them. I never cared for them before that even tho. Cats hate me and are evil lol. Dogs on the other hand love u and can be trained. But i will still have to say i love my bp's more than any other animal.

Since we're all sharing pictures...

My family is weird and sort of co-owns these four (plus the hunting dogs owned by my mom's family when they're in town)... Purchased, fed, and housed separately by their "people", but I'm the person in charge of training and walking them and my mom is usually the person who runs them to the vet. Eventually I'm getting a working line (likely Czech) GSD and probably a Dobe, though I've been debating a Dane, Dutchie, or Czech Wolfdog.

And then the cat is my Saffron~ 9lbs of love for me.

My mom breeds Cairn Terriers so I always grew up with lots of dogs around. Now my boyfriend and I live with our two cats, snakes, lizards and dog Samboo. I love my cats, but I am def. a dog person.. Cant help it, Boo just gets me.

This is Toothless (the Japanese Bobtail up top) and Hotdog (Abyssinian mix, below). We got them both in Hawaii, and they came with us when we moved back to the mainland. Tooth came from a cat hoarder and was feral when we got her, but now she is as sweet as can be.

Robin, I have to tell you - I love your pics! Those cats are too cute! Like your boyfriend with cats, my hubby was emphatically NOT a dog person once we met, but he changed his mind once he met my shepherds. Now our Aussie is his and he's just as involved with the training and competing as I am, lol! Men...... :D:D:D
