reptile kingdom question

i bought a ball python that is about 1 1/2 years old from reptile kingdom on march 18 from the reading pa reptile expo and she has not ate since i got her and i sent them a email to see what they feed their ball pythons but i never got a response so i am wondering if anyone else got a ball python from reptile kingdom in new jersey any help will be really appreciated

What have you been trying to feed him and how are you going about doing it?

i tried live rats prekilled rats frozen thawed rats and live and frozen thawed mice but she wont take nothing all she does is get hissy and gets defensive and strikes the prey cause she is mad

So the next thing would be to look @ your husbandry, what are your temps? What do you measure them with? Do you have two identical hides? Are they small enough for your ball the feel secure? Is it in a low or high traffic area? How often are you offering food?

she is in a 15 quart tub the hot side temp is about 85 and cool side is about 70 she has a water bowl and a hide on the hot side and the humidity is about 70% i need to get some holes drilled in the tub within the next week that is why the humidity is so high

85 is a little low for a hot side you want 88-92 no more than 94, the cool side is way to cold they should be around 78-82 and you shouldn't have temps below 75 anywhere in there and 70% humidity isn't bad, but you do need ventilation, your problem is probably the temps

What are you using for heat uth/flexwatt need to be regulated preferably with a thermostat

Raise your temps and Try all the different ways to feed. Live, f/t, mice, rats, in the enclosure, out of it, leave it in over night frozen thawed only! put it in a feeding tank covered for privacy. Every BP has their own way they want their food. Also that isn't that long for a BP to go off of food, so don't worry too much. As long as its not losing a crazy amount of weight and it seems to be happy and healthy. Your snake will eat when it wants to.

my temps are actually higher than that i just moved my room to the basement and am still getting things organized and never had time to put the digital thermometer in

See what happens after your temps are up, just make sure your not offering food too often it will stress the snake and food will be refused, and try not to handle too much only if you have to until a few meals have been taken, I don't touch mine on feeding day, are you waiting a week between feeding attempts?

A 15qt tub sounds pretty small for a 1 1/2 year old bp....

yea i been trying live mice around every 5 days and i do not handle her or anything i just need her to eat cause i am doing a science fair project with her it is ball python feeding responses if she does not eat i will use my corn snake instead or just make something up also i had her in a 28 quart tub but thought the tub size might have something to do with it so i moved her to the 15 quart

Not necesarily...
Get the tempa up and wait a week and try to feed her again. Make sure she has a tight fitting hide and crumple up some newspaper and put it in there to take up space and make her feel more secure.
