    Snake Room Temperature
I was curious to know what you guys keep the temperature of the room that your racks are in. I have a room right now that is at 80 for my rack but i have to climb a ladder to get to the room so i want to move it but can't have another room that is 80 degrees anywhere else. I was wondering if the room needs to be that hot. I have heat tape (obviously :P) and that might make the whole tub a bit warmer than the room anyway right? idk, any feedback is good feedback thanks.

actually it kinda is a treehouse lmao. When i was little my dad made me a club house thing. its a 6 foot by 6 foot room and its insulated and sided and has shingles. basically a mini house on stilts hahahaha it works good for a snake room except for the climb

From what I've researched, 82F is good for summer and then dropping that to 72F in September to stimulate breeding.

Do you use any heat tape at this temp? I live in Texas and for most of the year it would be cheaper fro me to keep my snake room at 85 and not use heat tape than anything lower (currently ~80-82). In the winter I would still have to heat but could use lower temps. Is that what you do or is it 85 all year?
    Thanks

My snake room is my bedroom. Temps in here are always between 70 and 80F depending on the season.

When your rooms ambient temperature is that low, how do you keep the ambient temperature on your cool side tubs/enclosures higher than that? Or do you find that the heat source on one end is enough to raise the ambient temp a a few degrees higher?

My room gets colder than that and I haven't had any problems with my temps. I live in San Diego though so its never really too cold =P

i heat the whole room to 80 and then the females that are breeding get extra heat from heat tape this time of year for follicle growth.

I'm amazed at the wide range of ambient temps. used (70-85). For those of you with ambient room temps in the 70s do you use PVC closed air systems? What are the ambient temps on the cold side of the enclosures?

I heat my room to 85.....no supplemental heat on tubs.....just room heat.
