bp has not pooped after last meal. Should I feed or wait
Jackson ate a fairly decent sized rat on 3/13/12 and had a shed yesterday, no poop. he did have urates like on the 3/16. I usually feed afer a shed, but I have yet to see poop. Should I soak in warm water or go ahead and feed tonight. I have never had a constipated snake... IDK. please give me some advice. thanks

He's not constipated. They all poop on their own schedule. Offer him food on a regular schedule, and he will most likely start to poop on a regular schedule. But, they don't all go between meals. Some go several meals between poops.

Remember, poop is a waste by product. The less your snake is pooping, the more of that food item is being used to build more snake.

Some of mine only poop when they shed. And that can be 2 or 3 months.

Mine don't poop everytime. I would feed him, and not worry. :)

Do you poop every time you eat? LOLOL

The chances are that you don't. The same applies to snakes. :)
They can take a few meals before dumping a load.

Lol come on now, I understand someone questioning it. We don't poop after ever meal, but then again we also don't eat every seven says ;)

I know snakes have different bodies than humans.
They take everything slower than us. They eat less frequently and have a slower metabolism to digest meals. But isn't the process still relatively the same as us? We just do it daily compared to their weekly.
If we ate every 7 days, I still don't think we would poop after every meal??

Gosh. I would be soooo hungry if I had to wait to use the bathroom in order to eat. Lol.

(I could be totally wrong with this. Haha. )

I used to stick to a 7-day schedule, unless he pooped before that, but then one time he went the full 7 without pooping.

It won't hurt to try to feed, the worst he can do is refuse. :D

I wouldn't worry about it like everyone said its an individual thing. You could look at the food size you're offering and if you feel the snake could handle an upgrade do that?

Though, generally they smell worse when the snake holds it in to combine two feedings.

I always think he's laughing at me when I have to clean two meals up that smell four times as worse haha.
