Largest Clutch Ever 12 Eggs....... (2nd Clutch of the year)

I know to some 12 eggs is nothing, but this is a great thing to see first thing in the morning.. 12 eggs PYB X Normal/Dinker Female. She gave me 7 eggs last year, but 3 or 4 were slugs. I guess she made up for last year.

Yeah she lost a bit of weight. She now weighs 2575g She is a great eater. In about 4 days she will be eating again. She takes two med rats a week, when on food.

Thanks, I have a pinstripe from her last year that is just killer looking. Very light, reduced pattern, has kind of the same color going on.

I was very happy with it. Now I just have to get a bigger baby rack. With this clutch and my mojave clutch that due to hatch on Friday. My baby rack will be full. And I have at least two more clutches coming.

Awesome! Congrats! I don't think any breeder would turn their nose up at 12 eggs! Thats a damn good BP clutch! I just had my largest clutch this year @ 10 eggs.

Whoo Hoooo! Looks like you caught them early enough to separate them. That certainly makes them fit in an egg box easier. Good luck, hope every one of them produces a healthy cool baby!

man so jealous I not gotten a clutch yet to drop and looks to be at least 30 days till i even that lucky ) and I mostly slugged out the year before. so I hope to make up just a little this year. and yout on you r second slutch and got 12 eggs. I hopping to get 5 eggs per females this year and then only hope for them to be healthy hatchlings.

This female only laid 7 eggs last year, and 4 of them were slugs.

There was one fresh one, the rest were all stuck pretty good. I have noticed with that if there is a large number of eggs. My larger clutches are 8 and 9 eggs. Normal size is 6 or 7. Anyways it seams the larger clutches don't stick as bad as smaller clutches.. Not sure if that has to do with mom not being able to wrap them as well.. When I found her on the 12 eggs, she was having a hard time covering them all.. Also she was in a hurry to get off them. Didnt fight, soon as I touched her she left the eggs on her own...

Thanks, Im not 100% sure on the weight.. If I know the female is over 2000g, and is nice and chunky. I wont even bother weighing them.. Now if its a smaller female, first time breeder.. I will weigh them, just to make sure she is up to size. Also the bigger females are hard for me to weigh, my scale is kind of small, and only goes to 4000g I think..

Last year I was hit with a bunch of slugs. Ill get one here and there, but last year was crazy. I had more slugs last year, more than all the years Ive been breeding total.
