I am by no means any kind of boa expert, but that guy there is nearly identical to my hogg island x Columbian red tails.

He does look like a hypo pastel and boas do change colors much like geckos and bearded dragons. They have a light phase and a dark phase and it can happen very quickly. Some locales can change color quite drastically. My BCC Suriname can go from being almost charcoal to very light with tons of pink in a matter of minutes.

I'm not sure what they are worth. As for my sig, it's the spelling that so many people get wrong. If you google hogg island boa it will correct you.. Its Hog. Like a pig.

Same with columbian.. That word only exists as colleges and companies.. Basically it's a made up word. The country is Colombia. Therefore, the boas that originated from there are spelled the same way.

    :)

Hog Island got it's name from the pigs that pirates released on the island before they would raid the Spanish forts in Central America. That way, the pigs wouldn't get killed in the raids, and the pirates had a food source when they would hide out after the raids. The Spanish name for the island is "Cayos los Cochinos"...

Pirates did not release them so that they would not get killed in the raids.. and most likely both groups fighting for ownership of the islands released hogs onto it.
It was common practice to release hogs into the wild, they were not the pigs we have today, they were smaller with more muscle and larger tusks. They released them because the livestock of the day were able to fend for themselves. Its cheaper and easier if you dont have to house and feed an animal just to eat it. Pigs breed like crazy and can quickly over run and destroy an island/ecosystem.

Its one of the reasons we still have wild boars in some parts of the U.S.

IMO, they are better looking than a normal. The are one of the ingredients in a ghost boa. A super when bred to a normal will produce all hypos. The one you have is beautiful though. The only way to tell if it a Super is breed it. If you could find out the pairing that produced that animal you will have a better idea what it "could" be.

I wouldnt say pastel but definately a hypo possible super hypo. Hypos go for around 60-80 I would say at that size.

Interesting reading about the Hogg (hog) island thing. I completely believe you and willing to change my mind! But how are so many misinformed about the spelling? Anytime I have seen any reference to them, anytime I see them for sale, or see them at shows it is always spelled "hogg"?
And what would the corrected term be for a "columbian" boa?

Columbian is Colombian. The country they come from is Colombia not Columbia.
As for the Hog vs Hogg... Ive seen it both ways everywhere. Hog does make more sense though bc when you translate the spanish name fo the island it wouldnt be "Hogg Island" or "Island of the Hoggs". Because that would mean our english spelling is wrong lol...

My Super Salmon colored up a ton since I first purchased her. I didn't really see Salmon Hypo in yours though? Maybe Orange Tail Hypo? I'm not the best with Boa morphs though. Nice snake either way!

That's rather cheap for a hypo. Normals usually go for that. Hypos are more in the $100-$150 range.

It's likely that will happen. Hypos tend to turn more a tanish color and their saddles start to blend in a little more if they are salmons.

This is how my girl has changed (she a hypo jungle though):
