Total Disappointment
Went to Repticon in Houston yesterday. I was sooo looking forward to going. When we arrived, we noticed it was not a large show at all. Not to mention, there were only approx. 10 ball pythons for sale at the show!! All but 2 were males. Mostly normals. Where are all of the female morphs? Heck, where were all of the ball pythons?? On a good note, had great company and dinner date! LOL!:O

Sorry to hear about the show being so small. I can't imagine there only being 10 BPs!! That's crazy. I go to a fairly small show in Birmingham, but it's still loaded with BPs.

The Lone Star Reptile Expos in Arlington is much better than that. Might be a bit of a drive for you, but the next one is the weekend of April 1.

Re: Total Disappointment
Wow that stinks. I was actually thinking of heading down there this weekend to check it out. Luckily I decided just to wait til the one in Arlington in 2 weeks. I agree though. The one in Arlington is great and you wont be disappointed if you drive up here for it.

I dont remember the name of the show or who puts it on, but they have one in Houston that is held at Reliant and it is always pretty big. Lots of morphs and vendors, and some of the big guys (nerd, bhb) usually go too. What the one you went to held at that crown plaza hotel?

Re: Total Disappointment
The show we were at was located in the Pasadena Civic Center.

Everyone is at Tinley Park.

I'm sorry the expo was a disappointment. Because of the way most breeders run their seasons, there just aren't many BPs available this time of year. The closer we get to August, the more you'll start to see.
Maybe The Troll cursed the show

I think it is a combination of bad timing in the breeding season for Bps and the HUGE show at Tinley. I personally would not schedule a show anywhere in the country on the same day as that one.

I believe that's the same show we have here in San Antonio every couple of months. It was much better than the Houston Repticon. I won't be wasting my time at Repticon again.

Re: Total Disappointment
lol, everybody was at the NARBC show in Tinley Park,IL. There was probably a couple hundred ball pythons there. Try the NARBC show in Arlington, TX on Aug, 25-26, you'll probably have better luck there.

what are all the shows other than repticon called so i know how to watch for them?

Re: Total Disappointment
Very possible you just went to a crap show Melissa...it happens. I only make it to shows in the winter, and even with it not being the prime time for baby balls, there's no shortage of them at the shows around here. My one experience going to a Repticon show was a major disappointment...I wouldn't go back if they came around and they paid my gas and toll expenses.

You are so right! I forgot about the $8 in toll and $50 in gas. I guess we have to live and learn. LOL! I was really looking forward to purchasing my #2.
