Poss Het Pied Challenge
-
I am saying #2. Not sure about the others.
-
I'm going to say 2 for sure.... And possibly 1?

I have not seen nearly enough poss het pieds to even make a decent guess, but #1 stands out to me as the most visually appealing of the clutch by quite a bit, IMO, so I'd find it worth working with it.
#2 has the "tell tale" belly markers...
I'd still go with #1
-
1,3,and 4 sorta look like it to me. I would definetly rule out #2.
Im going with #4
My normal female has belly markers like 1 and 4 so if either of them are het pied that means my girl might be too :O
-
They all have railroad tracks but 2 has the best ones.

*Factoid: "There are no such things as Hogg Island or Columbian boas"
-
So the "tracks" are suppossed to be solid lines like that in number two?
-
Re: Poss Het Pied Challenge
I'm going to go out on a limb and say, yes it looks like they all could be 50% possibly het for pied. Lol. Keep all the girls and try to prove them out. To me that's the best way to go.
-
Any of them could be, but I think #2 is the only one I'd actually put money on.
-
i have a 100 percent het pied female that has the jig jag pattern like number 4 to her not the regular train tracks i think that they can have differnt types of tracks themselves my female is out of a 100 percent het pied to a pied
-
Anyone care to guess if that weird splotch on hatchling 1 is a ringer mark, or just a strange flame?
-
Id say number 2 is a strong candidate!

Looks like a real funky flame...that's one of the reasons I wouldd find that one worth trying to prove out.
-
If I had to pick one it would definitely be #2.
-
Forget the tracks, if you look at the belly shot of #2 you can see a partial ringer mark close to the vent.. i'm sayin #2 for sure. All are pretty good looking though :gj:
-
Hatchling #2 certainly has the "classic" belly markings of a het pied. The ones that everyone says means a het pied, but to my knowledge it's never been conclusively proven.
However, I said #1. I can't put my finger on what it is about that hatchling, call it a gut instinct if you will, I think that one is a het.
Number 3 is certainly attractively marked, het pied or not.
And number 4 ? That thing almost looks pastel or fire-ish to me. I love how bright and crisp and clean it is.

That orange ghost gene really seems to produce beautiful animals, definitely something I've noticed. "Het Orange Ghost" makes for great looking animals.
-
-
-
I said all 4 with 2 being questionable.
-
# 2 is the one I consider definite...I think the chances he's not a het pied are almost nil. # 1 is the only female, alas, lol.
Thanks for the help, guys, it's interesting to see folks' opinions. :)

Yes

Re: Poss Het Pied Challenge
Before I saw the belly of #2, I picked #2 from the pattern alone. It has more "melty" pattern than the others, that is more indicative of het pieds.
Four is also close based on pattern alone.
-
#2 for sure. Classic markings. #4 also has some markings but not all.
-
I voted #1 for the weird flame/ringer mark, but #2 is a close second for me for the weird ringer mark and the train tracks.
Also, since #1 is the only female, shes probably the only one I would keep.
-
I 'm gonna say two? Not because I have any experience in genetics and breeding and spotting morphs (im learning) but because my new male ball is a het pied, and his belly looks remarkably like that. Amateur guess (Y)
-
2 and 4 if you are gambling. Keep in mind that the so called pied markers are not gospel. It shows up in certain lines but is never a gaurantee. The fact that this was a poss het to het ghost breeding doesnt stack the odds in your favor at all. But if your gonna hold any back to try and prove it out i would say 2 and 4.

X2 they all are good looking snakes
-
It was a full ghost to proven het pied breeding. ;)
1 and 2 are being held back, because 1 is the only female. Hopefully, in a couple of years or so, I'll find out if 1 is really het for pied...
I'll breed her to a pied first, to make sure I'm not wasting my time. ^_^

Rule out #2?? That one has the most "classic" "alleged" het pied markers out of any of those snakes lol.
I'm gonna go with #2. Those are the most intense tracks I've seen other than my proven male het pied.
-
#2 and #4, but they all have the "markers". #2 is the one I'd hold back.
... wo now what? We just have to way 3 years and you'll tell us which ones prove out???

Re: Poss Het Pied Challenge
My guess would be 2 and 4.
-
#2 is clean, I voted #4 though. Still learning markings, and small details. This site is great, and I can't stop reading all the threads. Everyone is providing great info, and I'm hopefully absorbing all this info. Thanks again to all the veterans in this biz, to help guys like me try a new hobby, and hopefully someday, start a small business. (which I hope my kids take over in 18 years).
