    Reliable Ball Python Breeders
    Hello,

I've decided on buying a Ball Python, and I'm looking for good breeders. The main one I've been looking at so far is BHB Reptiles due to Brian's all-around awesomeness and their reliability. If anyone else has a good suggestion please feel free to reply. I'd appreciate it.

    :)

    Thanks.

Down the left hand side of the screen, underneath the list of users currently on-line are hot links for seven reliable breeders who support this Fourm. You should check out their websites.

Also, many of the members here on BP.net are breeders. Most have a link to their website in their signature lines.

I have animals from Action Reptiles (male pastel, female lesser, female pinstripe, female albino, male ghost), Coiled Constrictors (female pastel), MABalls.net (male mojave), NERD (female spider), EclipseExotics.com (two female normals), Sabrina's Reptile Kingdom (male normal), and BHB (yb pair, female fire). Keep in mind I really enjoyed all the breeders I've dealt with. If you do choose to go with BHB, be sure you have a can of Provent-a-mite on hand. Mine came with mites, which infected my collection. Luckily, PAM works wonders and I was able to control then eradicate them.

There are NUMEROUS reliable breeders on this website. All being on this forum except Sabrina's :)

I got my boy from Reptile Rapture and have heard nothing but good things about Richard from others. When he realized he only had a few of the snake I wanted he even offered me a more expensive one for the same price. I turned him down, I liked one of the normal males he showed me, but in my eyes that proves he's willing to work with you to get you started.

    Royal Hijinx
Mark Petros, Jeremy Smith (Fire-Ball reptiles), Mike Bell, Rick Schlosser and on and on. I would figure out what you want and then ask who has them.

The first ball python i had ever bought was a yellowbelly from Adam Chesla at the Atlanta Reptile show, and I have seen maybe two other yellowbellies for sale that are as nice looking as the one i got from Adam. My ball python has kept his golden/yellow colors and he seems to be blushing more with each shed! Adam is very reliable, helpful, and he cares about the animals he breeds/sells.

One other thing: I have a fairly low budget, so what breeders are reliable but also drive a low price? Thanks.

Find a reptile expo, there are tons coming up. You will find the best bang for your buck there.

What is the greater driving force for your purchase? A certain morph you want, or an overall dollar amount you can't exceed

Richard/Reptile Rapture has normal males for $45 plus shipping and the prices for his morphs look fair to me :3

The Board of Inquiry (BOI) over at Faunaclassifieds.com is full of reliable ball python breeders. There are literally hundreds of people who are genuinely reliable, 99% aren't as well known because they aren't big.

I'm a fan of Jeremy Smith over at Fireball Reptiles. Thanks to him we hope to be producing awesome SPOGs next season.

$45 for normal males?!?! Ouch that's high you can pick a pastel male for $15 more. I say reptile expos are the way to go. You won't pay shipping you can meet the breeder in person and ask as many questions as you want. You can play with the animal you are going to purchase (plus a few that are out of your price range:P ) careful and only take what you are willing to spend though.:D

Sabrina's is great! But yeah, some names are on the sidebar. If you prefer to buy local you should look around online. You can check out the snakes before you buy, so it's less of an issue.

I wouldn't know expos prices around here, nearest is 3 hours out. Pet shops here sell them for $80 plus tax so it's an awesome price to me. :P

Actually, did some other sniffing around online, looks like LLL and BHB also have similar prices (LLL $55, BHB $40), Prehistoric Pets has baby pastels for more than $200. I'll hold fast to my previous statement of Richard having some really fair prices. Looks like 40ish is usual online.

    C&H Exotic Morphs
Start browsing the classifieds here, on kingsnake.com and fauna classifieds so you can find what you like that is in your price range. And then check out the BOI on fauna and the feedback area here to make sure that you will be dealing with a reputable breeder. Everyone has listed some great breeders, but there are many many more out there. There is no reason to limit yourself to a couple of breeders when there are so many good breeders out there that work with such a wide variety of morphs.
