is my bp normal/ healthy size??
    Hello
This is my first bp named zeeke and Iam probably more stressed than I could've expected to be over him. I wNt only to do all the right thing for him so my question is I got him on sat. And weighed him quicly today he is 208 grams and about 8 months old or so does this sound right?
    Thanks ahead of time

8 months old and only 200 grams is rather small. Mine that are about that age are in the 4-700 gram range. But it also depends on the animal. Can you post picks so we could get a better idea of how he actually looks?

I agree, that seems pretty small, a picture would definatly help.

They all grow at different rates, but I would say its on the small side.

Also meant to say saggy not savvy

A phone cam pic will be fine.

Did the man at the show say what he was eating? Rats or mice?

You need to upload the photoes to photobucket, then copy the "IMG" cafe and paste it into a post here on BP.net

Actually in those pics he looks pretty good. Maybe he is just a slow grower, wasn't on a great feeding schedule or the breeder got his hatch date mixed up.

How did you try to upload them?

regardless, he looks ok but I have a hard time believing that he is 8 months old. It is possible that he is just a very slow grower but this seems a little extreme to me.

It would have seemed at first that for an 8 month old, 200 grams is small side. After seeing your pics I think he looks ok. I have one that I would swear was a pygmy ball. He is just short and small. My girls are putting him to shame. But, they do all grow at their own pace.

See I can't remember exactly which he said I know he said was hatched either June or July of 2011

I have a spider male that was born in June, and he currently weighs 480 grams. I have a Pastel Female born on September 2nd that currently weighs almost 700 grams already. They do grow at very different rates. As I said 200 grams seems a little low to me 4-6 months seems much more likely, but once again anything is possible. From the picture your snake looks healthy so there is nothing to worry about at this point.

My guys are roughly the same size, I know 100% Aurora is July 31st 2011 its 130 Grams Empty.. Where Diablo is 150 full
But I can not be sure of Diablo's hatch date
How can a snake about the same age and 208 Grams be under weight.

Plus the OP left out if this was Empty Weight or Full Weight

After getting to page 2, it looks like it is time to ramp up the feeding :D

I'd say he looks fine, he's not becoming a triangle yet. I'd put him on a 5 day schedule myself if he'll eat that often.

Oh Iam sorry but yes he is completey empty for sure! The first night he went so much like three to four bigg ones and again last night was a lil smaller . But I assume he's empty when on ride home with him I noticed the tail was very swollen and full looking and now is not. Also as far as feeding fked when would it be safe to try? I only got him just sat.

you should wait a week (from when you got him), then try offering food. at his age/weight, I would feed him every 4-5 days. I feed mine every 4 days until they hit 500 grams then I move them to an 8 day schedule.
