free agency just started. who ya got. whos goin where. happy or not?
So free agency is officially in full swing. Whose goin where ? What are your thoughts?
-
Re: free agency just started. who ya got. whos goin where. happy or not?
Well the 9ers just signed Randy Moss...maybe not a game changer, but he could be if he shows up to play. Not nearly enough to put them over the top, but possibly a solid step forward to try to strengthen a dismal receiving corps.
Peyton will sign with Arizona or Tennessee by tomorrow...Arizona being the smart move, Tennessee being the emotionally charged, yet ultimately bad decision...IMO.
-
lol at the colts. Theyre done for awhileeeee. Putting all their eggs in the andrew luck basket wasnt the best idea imo lol

YES! hes getting old though...
He would make an awesome outside compliment to big Vince though!
-
Was excited for the Dolphins. Now I think they are screwing their team up on purpose. No RG3, No Peyton and to top it off we just traded Brandon Marshall.
-
Dont get your hopes up in arizona. Peyton has always said he wont ever go to a team in the same division as his brother. The manning family want a manning superbowl. I think he goes to miami. Mario williams is gonna land in buffalo. The niners are solid. Moss gives them that over the top tall big ball play maker they need.dont forget how close they came last year. They will be great next year

I can only hope...considering that QB and receivers were their weakest spots, at least one has been upgraded, IF Moss comes out to play and not be his ugly alter ego. I would LOVE if they made a solid offer to Manning and he signed there...no doubt they'd be hands down super bowl favorites out of the gate.
-
I know it probably won't happen, but Peyton Manning to Larry Fitzgerald would be DEADLY!!!
-
Wherever manning lands you will see top recievers drooling at the chance to go where he is. Peyton makes good recievers great.
-
He will not be as good as he was pre-surgery. Look at brady, hes certainly not as good. The smartest thing manning could have done was just retire. He already has mvp and a sb win so hes gettin into canton, idk why he would wanna come back. Its gunna turn into manning watch instea of favre watch lol.

I agree 100%. If moss can behave himself then they niners will be golden

Mario is a beast! I have family in Houston and I was lucky to watch him tear it up before his injury this past year. I think any team would be lucky to have him.
-
I like all of the commercials with Peyton and Eli! Peyton will do better than most QB's regardless of where he lands...... he is a competitor. (Not saying anything against other QB's, but I just think Peyton has a crazy drive to win)

Even if the heart and mind are giving 110% sometimes the body just cannot keep up... I agree though, he will still perform better than other qbs just bc hes peyton manning lol

Re: free agency just started. who ya got. whos goin where. happy or not?
This Marshall trade is making many in the league believe that Manning is gonna sign with the Dolphins. I gotta tell you me being a Dolphins fan if they don't sign Manning we are gonna go haywire, better be a great reason why you give away an impact player like Marshall.
There have been rumblings that Manning did not want Marshall on the team from what I read if he comes here they will do their best to bring in Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne.:please:

Arizona is not in the same division as NY.

Both are NFC therefore making it impossible for a Manning vs. Manning SB. I think thats what he meant but youre right too

Peyton Manning to my Denver Broncos!

Why would he retire...compare Brady's and Manning's careers(minus Super Bowl wins) and Manning is clearly a good step ahead. He's the smartest and most fundamentally efficient quarterback in the league by a long shot. If he plays his cards right and signs with the team that suits his needs best, he has a good 4 years left in him.
-
To hell with comparing careers. Compare injuries. Bradys big injury was a knee. Very important to mobility and planting for throws considering bradys best attribute is his velocity and long balls. And all his docs said he will never be what he was because it was a knee. Now look at peyton. He had a neck injury where it was fully repaired. Yes also an important part of mobility but with a difference. Peyton was never a velocity qb. He didnt rely on the long ball. He is a precision pick ya apart passer. Plus all the docs involved and experts not involved have all said his neck is 100%. The only issue is nerve damage which is repairable on its own through regeneration so the nerves will come back. The neck injury and knee injury are totally different. As you may think the neck is worse, it is not with this type of injury. The knee is something you never come back 100% from. Manning also has something no other qb in the game has ever had. His brain. He is by far the smartest qb to ever play the game. He will be back and will make irsay pay for giving up on him. Now for me free agency is boring cause im an eagles fan thru and thru.

Exactly. They said on ESPN not a couple of days ago that Peyton would prefer to stay out of the NFC.
-
Peyton is all done, remember even before the injury he was having a horrible season, he was throwing picks left and right. And now going into a new system, his best days are behind him. This will be like when Joe Montana went to the chiefs.....forgotten.

I have to disagree with a lot you just said here. Brady's best attribute is not a long ball by any means. He had one season with Moss where the long ball was a big threat. Brady is known for short routes to the slot receivers underneath coverage, and now his two great TE's getting as much YAC as possible. But Bradys greatest attribute can not not be seen or measured and that is his decision making and ability to read defenses, hence him falling so far in the draft. Peyton is famous for his long balls to Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and others over the years. Either way they are both field generals and can pick a defense apart. But to say Bradys big theat is his hard throwing and long balls is just not accurate.

I'm sorry but that little part you put in there about minus super bowl wins isn't so little lol come on man. It's the reason they play the game. I can guarantee you Peyton would trade in all his regular season records for a couple rings.
Also why are people talking as if Brady has fallen off? He came back from the knee injury to win NFL MVP unanimously(first time anyone has done so) And took the Pats who had the last ranked defense in the league all the way to the super bowl. I would have to say that's far from falling off.
-
Rob. I am not even going to argue tom bradyvwith you seeing you are from new england. My wife is from boston, my moms side of the family is from millinocket maine, and i catch enough crap from my inlaws and family about not being a pats fan so i know how die hard you guys are lol. Now with that said i should clarify. I didnt mean at all that bradys only attribute was the long ball. What i meant was brady is and always been a rifleman. His throws have so much velocity on them. A knee injury affects his style of game more then the neck injury will effect peytons. There is no doubt brady and peyton are in the top 5 best qbs to ever play the game. Peyton i would say is the best when it comes to reading defenses and making adjustments. Im not saying peytons best days are in front of him but by no means is he done. Not only is he gonna be a force but wherever he goes he brings the manbing factor. Players are gonna want to play for him and with him just like they do for brady. If i had to pick a qb to play for me down by a score with 2 minutes left in the big game it would be bradyball the way. That dude is money.
-
@snakelab, hahaha well at least you know how nuts we are about our Pats here in New England. My sons name is Brady and my father and I are season ticket holders so yeah we love our Pats. Now can Peyton come back? We will see, the odds are not in his favor. coming off injury, aging, and what I think is the biggest obstacle going to a new system with new players. So was he great yup, but the way I see it going is the same way Montana's career went after the niners. But hey will will just have to watch and find out!

-

I'll give you that Joe did that much but as Great as Peyton was he is not Joe Montana, while Peyton is top five ever. Joe is top one or two good. But like I said we will just have to sit back and watch. But the odds are not in his favor.

Re: free agency just started. who ya got. whos goin where. happy or not?
Brady is a system guy who without Belichick wouldn't be who or what he is today nothing against him I'm a fan and respect the heck out of him but he is no Peyton Manning 4 MVP's for good reason.
Not saying Brady wouldn't be successful somewhere else but it wouldn't even be close to what he has done in the past with Coach Belichick.

That's where people get it wrong. People say Brady is a system guy, with out bill he's nothing. But like bill said, Brady helped make this system. With out Brady there is no "system".

That system made Matt Cassel alot of money. just sayin
-
Brady is a 7 time pro bowler, 3 time super bowl champion, 2 time super bowl mvp, 5 time afc champion. Peyton is a 11 time pro bowler, 1 time superbowl champion, 1 time super bowl mvp, 6 time afc player of the year, 4 time nfl mvp. As both are incredible the super bowl wins trump the rest. Remember stats are for loosers. Winners look at the scoreboard
-
You guys gotta take into account the recievers that each qb had. Manning was throwing to wayne and harrison, two amazing recievers. Both first round picks and both hall of famers. Brady was throwing to people who were no names. When we got welker he was a nobody punt returner from miami. I mean besides moss, who was big name, i cant rattle off many lasting famous recievers the pats have had... (well yes i can bc im a pats fan but nobody will know who im talking about lol. Like jabar gaffney, donte stallworth)... My point is brady makes other players around him good. He makes up just as much of the system as bill does. Manning had an awesome WR, harrison, when he got there. And then 3 years later was given another hof reciever, wayne. Dont get me wrong the pats had some good recievers, but none of them were a marvin harrison or reggie wayne.
And whoever said peyton is better than brady not counting super bowl wins... Come on really?
Manning has brady beat 2 to 1 for mvps but i think id rather have brady beating manning in superbowls 3 to 1.... 3:1 > 2:1

Here's a good question could Cassel have one a Super bowl or two with Belichick?:D

I just dont think hes a superbowl caliber qb. He just doesnt seem competetive enough. He went to usc, a football powerhouse, yet never played. He was a good backup and i think thats what he'll always be. The only reason he was good was because of the rest of the team and the system brady/belechick built. Before brady got injured he sat on the bench for 3 years. Tom brady veryyyy rarely got injured so he probably never expected to play. That gave him plenty of time to learn the system. I just dont think some qbs have what it takes. From day 1 i have said the jets will not win a SB with sanchez. So far theyve come close but ive been right.
-
There are alot of good qbs that have never won a superbowl for whatever reason. With that said for a qb to win 3 makes him a great qb in a great system with great support. But that great qb also makes the great system.

My premise is all about the system and not about Cassel I'm just saying they have an amazing system in New England and that other Qb's WHO aren't as good could probably have won championships in that system.
That said they are 0-2 in there last two Super Bowls but thats a whole other converstion. Eli surprised me I didn't believe.

Eli surprised me too. Hes definetly a top qb now imo.

Nope, we had a good record but still missed the play offs, with the same team that Brady took all the way to the Super Bowl without a loss. It's a system but it's Brady's system.

Yes exactly.
P.S.- if you ever get tired of those season tickets feel free to send them my way :D
I finally got to go to my first game at foxborough last year. (the miami game). Probably one of the top ten most exciting days of my life lol
