My first "Is This a Morph???" Thread!
Was recently introduced to "Superstripes." This is Bindi, who I think looks like some Specters I have seen (on the internet), but I can't find too much info on them. The little Bindi dot (hence her name) is apparently passed down to some of her offspring, though I've yet to have a successful clutch from her. Anyways, here she is:

And just a cute pic of her lurkin'

    Thoughts?

Oh and by bindi dot, I mean the small black dot on her neck where the golden part of her pattern begins.

She looks really light to me sorta like a fire, but idk bc im not that good at identifying the subtler morphs...

Hmm I haven't done any research on Vanillas

I don't see the color or high flames normally seen in fires, but that headspot is very interesting... Possible vanilla? Definite dinker...

I think if I can get my hands on an Ivory or YB I might pair her next year

Vanilla is possible. If you breed to a pastel/superpastel it would soon clear that one up one way or another as vanilla creams are very distinctive. As you have already worked out breeding to an ivory would sort out any connection to the yellow belly group. You have said that she has been bred-do you have the chance to breed a son with the same look back to her to see waht happens there? This would obviously solve the question of whether or not she is a fire or similar.

There is no pastel in a vanilla cream..
The vanilla cream is a fire/vanilla.

I do not know if you're snake is a morph, but she looks almost exactly like my snake that I have right now. It is possible that you're snake is a morph, but one of the more subtler kinds of morphs. good luck

Unfortunately I don't have any of her offspring to breed back to her, but she's been locking up with a spider this year, so we'll see. I'm still on the hunt for a YB/Ivory, though.

I can't believe that I made such a stupid mistake when I know full well what makes a vanilla cream. All I can say in my defence is that I was tired-either that or dementia is setting in. Thank you for putting the facts straight.

Dont see vanilla. For its size it should have bright up a bit. Especialy the stripe on her tail.

Just thought I'd update this, though it's nothing really exciting. This girl is due to drop eggs in 10-15 days. She was paired with a spider this year. Hoping to either pick up a YB male sometime soon, or perhaps find somebody with an Ivory who wants to do a breeding loan with us.

    UPDATE! For anybody whose interested.

She did drop a clutch for us, but from the get-go some of the eggs didn't look great. The veins were there, but they didn't look very strong. We lost most of the eggs but did hatch out one girl. I've posted her up. I've set it to public, so even if we're not Facebook friends you should be able to view it: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...1&l=7b8cf05f8f

It looks like a nice pretty normal, as was mentioned on facebook, normals can have clear belly's too.

Yeah that's pretty cool, I didn't know that. I've never seen such a clean belly on a normal!

I'm still waiting on a YB to pair with mama, but we have spent soooooooooooo much on adult females this year and we have another big big BIG bill coming up for our PVC racks that I don't think a YB is in the cards anytime soon.

Re: My first "Is This a Morph???" Thread!
It may just be me seeing things or having not looked at enough snakes, but it does look a little orange-ish slightly above the baby's tail.

And mom does have some interesting qualities with those two head-spots and the light coloring. I don't make predictions.

I don't know what's up with that yellow spot either. Not sure if perhaps it's going to shed off?

UPDATE: No, the yellow did not shed off.

    New pic here

Mom looks like a fire or a vanilla, baby looks like a normal.
