new snake!
I went to my first reptile expo today & splurged on a gorgeous diamond x jungle today! the show wasn't as crowded as I'd expected--I suppose the rain may have been a deterrent. I'd intended to get a boa but these djs were absolutely stunning. She & her kin are late 2010 and I have to say that the more slender build is likely better suited for me at this time.
Best of all, handling her was positively fun. She is settled in perfectly on the perch in her cage right now. I expect she'll feed this week without a hitch.
Before I put her away to acclimate I managed to get a few pics. once I figure out how to post them I'll indulge, although they aren't that good to begin with.

I love my Carpet Python, I can't wait for mine to get bigger (he's about 2 1/2 feet now) I agree that the build of carpets makes them much more manageable than something like a RTB

pics or it didn't happen!! :P
Congrats on the new pickup, never met anyone who didn't fall in love with carpets after having one for an hour.

I'd NEVER let the weather deter me from a herp show!! :) True herpers are like the post office (well...how it used to be)..."Neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor dead of night...!!"

Indeed, don't get us going and then not post any pics of the beauty.

Re: new snake!
That's just a teaser with out a picture. :( I had trouble posting pics, don't know if its because my internet is through my phone or not. But I got tapatalk and now piece of cake to load a picture through that.

I believe that I was right behind you when you purchased this carpet. The story matches up from what I was over hearing waiting in line.
Those carpets were beautiful. I almost took home a pair of these but in the end I opted out.

oh, cool :) did you end up taking home anything from the show? in addition to declining to make my purchase a pair(which I would've done if I had another cage...) I had to pull myself away from some baby turtles.
I'm making progress in the realm of pictures; I'm using a phone though so it's a bit trickier. the ones I have aren't so good but I hope to get better ones later this week :)

yep that was you!
Unfortunatly, I didnt find anything to my liking other than that carpet and Iwas considering a few retics. There wasnt too much there just a lot of leopard geckos and not very many snakes. I ended up just buying a lot of feeders.

awesome animal, would love to see bigger pics soon!
Who produced it? Any idea the % diamond in it? I'd definitely call that a great looking diamond jungle. Not all are as pretty as yours!
I was just feeding my 2010 gamma-line DJCs (diamond jungle coastals) last night and was thinking to myself just how gorgeous high quality diamond crosses are.

I was going to post the better pics while I was at work today but we got too busy. Monday hopefully I can upload them, I got some good ones! She's 75% diamond, but tragically I didn't think to get the breeder's name. I get nervous in crowds so after looking around enough to see what all was there I made the purchase slightly hasty.

That pile of baby retics was crazy! It was a pretty small event, I assume later in the spring & summer there will be more there.
