What is POG?
Seems to be a hot thing these days. But I've not seen what it stands for or looks like.
To me POG is a game you played with bottle caps back in the 80's/90's. :)
Thanks.

A Pastel Orange Ghost = POG. And the good ones are stunning!

A POG with a PHOG, a future pairing to make SPOGS. If I can find something lesser/pastel/hypo or het hypo, then I'll be shooting for SPLOGS eventually :D
Shouldn't be hard to decipher.

I had some pretty cool slammers, I'm sure mine are stashed away some where from 15-20 years ago

In Iraq we had paper coins called POGS that were given as change at the exchange.
Anyway, Pastel OG's are pretty darn sweet, and a steal for the price they go for.

In '03 my tent mates and I nailed a sandbag to the inside of the door and dumped all our POGs in there. By the time we left we had about $150 worth. We took them to the BX and made the manager count them all so we could get real money before we deployed back to the world. That dude was not happy :rofl:

Here's our little male POG! He is only about 200 grams so he still has awhile before he really comes into his color. They are definitely one of those moprhs that gets better with age.

Re: What is POG?
Hi .
I've got the opportunity to buy one of these beauties BUT I have heard that they fade quite dramatically with age , losing their colouring but still remaining pretty damn gorgious .
Has anyone got experience of mature Pastel Orange Ghosts or any photos you can share .
Thanks

Ghosts get better with age. The blacks fade to a ghosty gray look. But their other colors get better in my opinion.
This is my adult female:

Then compare her to an adult single gene pastel without the ghost gene.

I miss slim.
POGs do change in color over time in some of the same ways pastels do. The Ghost gene cleans it up quite a bit and prevents / counters a lot of that, but there is still some. Overall they are a great morph and when you add in other 'cleaner' genes besides the ghost like Enchi, Lesser, etc.. then they start to get REALLY amazing and bright and colorful.

when people do not want to be understood, they turn perfectly fine terms like "pastel hypo" into ridiculous 3-letter-abbreviations.
wikipedia says:
Quote:
POG is a three letter acronym (or three-letter abbreviation) that may stand for:
- Pediatric Oncology Group, former U.S. and Canadian clinical trial cooperative group
- Personnel Other than Grunts, pejorative military slang, also known as "pogue"
- PHP Object Generator, type of object-relational mapping software
- Pillars of Garendall, role-playing video game
- Pittsburgh Organizing Group, former Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based anarchist organization
- Planogram, visual representations of a store's products or services
- Point of Grace, all-female Contemporary Christian music group from Arkansas
- Polyphonic Octave Generator, a modulation pedal for a musical instrument
- Price of Gold, benchmark for the price of the commodity
yeah, well, no pastel hypo here.

The person who didn't want to be understood and cleverly devised the POG secret code for (P)astel (O)range (G)host is hopefully not someone who is responsible for devising secret codes.

Re: What is POG?
Did not want to be understood? Orange ghost is abbreviated OG. So, it stands perfectly reasonable that P...astel OG would be abbreviated POG. Or, here's a better example. Blue Eyed Leucistic is abbreviated BEL. You know many people stand a table repeating Blue Eyed Leucistic? No, they say BEL. Just like they won't repeat Pastel Orange Ghost, but POG.
You both largely over thought that, and it shows.

if its just a marketing strategy to make orange ghost (which is just another line of regular hypo) more popular than the other perfectly fine lines of hypo, then its brilliant.
if thats not it, then its just ridiculous.
i have a few suggestions:
SOG = spider orange ghost
COG = calico orange ghost
SPOG = super pastel orange ghost
GOG = GHI orange ghost
POG = pinstripe orange ghost..... oh, wait... :weirdface:confusd:

Speaking of secret codes....people use "wtf" on here all the time. I got a warning once (or maybe it was just an edit) for using ":cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:" (crap. I just did it again). WTF?
This thread is forever old, so I don't feel too bad about interjecting with nonsense. Like, 3/10 feel bad.

Re: What is POG?
Well there's at least two people on this thread who take themselves very seriously.

WTF IS "WTF"?
Oh...nevermind.

Its going in the same vein as keeping a line between butter and lesser, and other "same but not same" genes. People buy into a "line", and will buy POGs and not pastel hypos.
