Which one to use as an incubator?
So I was REALLY lucky this year and came across two FREE items I can use as incubators. Now I just have to choose which one to use.

#1. a five and a half foot tall stand up freezer. Brand new condition, already removed freon and all the extra parts we wont be needing.

#2. a Coca Cola machine with sliding doors

    Any input?

I would use the coke machine bc the glass is see through so you could look at the eggs w/out having to open it up and disturb the temps/humidity. But the freezer may have a slightly better seal on it to hold in the humidity/temps.

I have been periodically checking craigslist for one of the glass door ones myself (HINT, HINT anyone in SoCal comes across one....), so that is my vote.

X4, I almost had my hands on one a couple months ago and they sold it before I could get there...

I put an add on craigslist that said I would haul away your old freezer or fridge that you just wanted gone. Worked out GREAT :)

Very nice. Well he got it home and it isn't quite what we thought it was going to be. But its still nice. It's a Scientific Food refrigerator with a glass hinged door. No slider. So I think I'm going to use number 2. It seals like a regular fridge, but has the glass door. I'm in the garage working on it now. I'm thinking I'm going to get both set up as incubators and just sell the one we won't be needing. I'll post pick later :)

Good choice. The coke cooler is a commercial unit therefore it has better insulating properties. Plus the see through is great. Also the seals on them around the glass are way better. Good find

That looks awesome. I have been cruising craigslist here in San Diego on the look out for something like that.
