New Bumblebee, what you you rate him?
Just got this little Male Bumblebee PH Ghost. What would you rate this little guy and what is the most you would pay/trade for one of similar quality?

Poor little guy is scared!
-
I wouldn't pay any more then $400 for a bee with shipping and that is pushing it for me, the whole spider x pastel craze has really worn off since I have seen killerbee's for $800 shipped
-
Seems pretty bright, but the yellows are washed out in that pic. I could not rate or put a price on it without a better pic. How much does he weigh?
-
Re: New Bumblebee, what you you rate him?
Have not weighed the little guy yet, I've got my new scale coming tomorrow from reptile basics. This one should hold out a little better than my Wal-mart food scale I had. He was born in July so I'm assuming around 300-600 grams.
-
Unless you have giant hands he's likely not 600, probably closer to 300-400. Can you get pics in more natural lighting?

Yes I can, I can use a better camera as well. May try to get that done tommorow night after work Saturday afternoon. Thank you for your input! Also, are there any small subtle markers for het ghost that you can see?
-
I sold some awesome bees this year at 350 males and kept all my females.
When it comes to hets the price will jump quite a bit due to the genetics its holding.
Bees het albino, het axanthic, het what ever will increase price from the normal 300-400 price to in the thousand dollar range.
-
That's for a 100% het, this one is a possible, so I do not think it would add that much price wise. Bees have been so highly produced, that, as you said, even really sweet ones go for a very reasonable price now.
As for het markers for Hypo, some folks say that the coloring may be different, but it would be hard to tell on a Bee. I have a Lemon Blast that is 100% het Hypo and other than being a good looking Blast, I do not see any het marker.

My 100% het Hypo Black Pewter has a really blushed out head, but otherwise looks like a Black Pewter.

When i say Het im insinuating 100%. When i say POS im insinuating 66% or 50%..

In darker morphs it's fairly easy to tell.
This is our black pastel "pos" het ghost breeding a black pastel female.
His dad was a black pastel 100% het ghost so he is a 50% pos het.
We will eventually prove him out I have no doubt.

I agree that het ghost would be difficult if at all possible to tell on a bee

I get ya. I was just making the point with a PH it probably won't add too much to the value. It is real variable with that one though. It is interesting how het Hypo definitely has more price effect on some morphs over others.

Yeah, I think when the Pastel gets added in it takes away looking for a subtle lightness.

Better pics would be nice. I voted average, as he seems to have a lot of spots to start with. I think he will brown out quite a bit since he looks like that now.

Re: New Bumblebee, what you you rate him?
I love bee's I can't wait to pair my firefly y.belly with my spinner should get some nice bee's and blast:banana:
-
Good looking little guy but I have to agree with everyone else, the pics are junk.
$300- $400ish would be about right, I have seen them cheaper.
I will be looking for a female tomorrow LOL

Re: New Bumblebee, what you you rate him?
I have to agree with some of the above. There are all sorts of new bees out now so bumbles are dropping in price. They are valuable if Het but I sold a couple males for $350 and a female for $450 that were a bit brighter than this. I have a clutch on its way that should produce bees again and wouldn't ask for anymore than I did last year. I would rate him about a 6 or 7 since his colors are not popping out at you.
-
Looks like a I did pretty good. Actually got him from Nick Blay, at Habitat Systems LTD. Thank you guys for all your input, if any of you have any extremely bright bee's. Feel free to post them! I would love to see them.

I did that, but must have linked something wrong because when you went to Photobucket, they weren't available. I just loaded tapatalk on my phone, and think I may be good to go there! Yay.

This is a 2000 gram 08 female that gave us 7 eggs last season.
We are breeding our clown male to her...

Ok, here is my bee. She is going in to shed, so she is kinda dull looking. I just love bees and spiders though...http://img.tapatalk.com/aefdd504-668e-f9fe.jpg

That's an awesome Bee....high white with little browning out, exactly what I want (will have to put up a reminder to give you a shout when it comes time to get my BB).
-
It's hard to say since the colors are washed out, but I really like his pattern and I'm guessing he has nice coloring.
-
Re: New Bumblebee, what you you rate him?
Currently weighing in at 426 grams! His colors are really insane in person, he has a really soft look but a really cool pattern.
-
I think he's a great looking bee. $500 shipped would be a high end price.
-
I would say $400.
crappy pictures are crappy but it seems cloudy out.
Here is my boy at 300+ grams.

Its really hard to tell with that picture, to me he looks really dull and personally i like low white, i like the Bumble Bee look not a spider-bumblebee look. Here's my male; hes 6 months now.
