He's finally here!!! :D
Just got my first BP, a male mojave. He is absolutely stunning in person, but since you can't see what I do, here are some pictures :)
-I hope I do this right, haven't shared them in a thread before-
Also, sorry for the dimness, I have a little piece of printer paper over the flash so that it doesn't reflect so much. I'll experiment with that once he's settled in.
He's been in his tank a total of 30 minutes and the no touching is already killing me xD
He is 3 months old and 93g.

And just a little bit of shed stuck on his tail = /

I got him from a breeder in BC, Henry Piorun. I'm aware he's pretty damn light, he was the lightest of the 5 mojaves Henry had up. That was what drew me to him.
I am totally new to the game though, what does he look like to you?

can you get better pictures? I dont see the green lol the pattern is mojave but the color is just totally different by the way it looks like a lesser to me it explains the coloring a whole lot better and the lack of green, the creamy light color and the pattern too

look at the 5th picture up see if it looks similar :)

Re: He's finally here!!! :D
I will indeed be getting some better pictures up after he's settled in. He's only been here about an hour so I'm gonna leave him be until he eats. I can upload the picture of him that Henry had though, the lighting is pretty good on that one.

that could work what ever picture you have can help just wait for more input on him but I am thinking lesser instead of mojave

It's pretty close to what he looks like in person though.

thats my old mojo your ball matches more with the patterning and coloring of that of a lesser so Im kind of jealous lol

That's a very nice looking Mojo you have there!
-
Very good looking little mojo

Re: He's finally here!!! :D
That is a very pretty mojave, Congrats! My mojo boy is a bit lighter than most, that's what I liked too. But I seem to be drawn to the lighter, less busy morphs, rather than darker busy ones.

Very nice mojo. I thought it was a butter when I first saw the pics. :gj:

I know exactly what you mean! I love the lighter, almost faded colours. I absolutely love this guy's sides.. The blushing is so extreme in some places that his sides seem white in places :)
And thanks guys, I'm extremely happy with him.

Very nice bp congrat's. I can understand that your bp might be mistaken as a lesser. But, only (imo) because of the pattern. I've never owned a mojo but have seen alot of pic's. They usually have stripe on back and consistent busy side pattern's (upside down guitar pick shapes). Some have heavy pastel also.
Either way, don't matter great looking bp. Only thing I would suggest is to get that left over shed off his tail. Don't leave it for the next shed (I wouldn't). The tip of the tail on all bp's are very sensitive and left over shed skin can restrict blood flow. :D

So just letting him go through a damp towel or some such to help with that? And would that take precedence over letting him settle in? He just got here late last night, so trying to follow the no-touchy rule.

Re: He's finally here!!! :D
So, is there any reason to wait a week after the snakes arrival to offer food, other than the fact that it's unlikely for the snake to eat earlier than that due to stress?
Just curious if it can be detrimental at all for them to eat sooner.
Thanks :)

Very nice little guy you got there. Henry has some nice stuff for sure. I like his egg cutting videos. If you want to offer food you should be ok. But i would wait a least a couple days. That skin does need to come off. If you keep his humidity up it should come off on it's own. Hope you bought a rack cause one becomes two that becomes 15:gj: welcome to the addiction

Re: He's finally here!!! :D
Humidity is sitting at 60%, it's a screen top, so I'm using the damp towel on the screen trick. If it's not off in a few days I'll let him go through a damp towel and see if that helps. Thanks :)
And I love his egg cutting videos too, his family is very enthusiastic lol.

Do you know when he last shed? A damp towel will do the trick. As far as feeding you could try? I had one of my normals feed successfully after 2 day's of having her. But, waiting a week to feed is good also. The reason you wait on a new snake, is to let it acclimate to it's new home. If you try to feed to soon? You may get lucky or he'll refuse and may take even longer to accept food when you want him to feed.

Re: He's finally here!!! :D
I don't know his last shed date, but there were a few pieces of shed in the container with him when he arrived. I've been keeping the humidity up at 60-65% but it's not off yet = / I will be surprised if he gets it off on his own since it's the very tip of his tail, I don't know what he'd even rub against to get it going again. I will try with a damp towel/cloth tomorrow.
Thanks :)
