    In my opinion -
    Mice = Wonder Bread
    Rats = 7 Grain Wheat Bread

    They are very similar in fat content and protein content.
    That said, give me a rat eater every day and all day long, I hate having to feed multiple mice versus one rat, large adult females want/need more that the 30-40 grams a mouse will give them.

    The nutritional value is different however nutritional requirement of snakes have not been studied therefore it's fair to say that gram per gram it's all the same.

    That being said there is an advantage in feeding a certain prey type compare to the other and this is due to the size of the prey in question.

    Whoever told you this is wrong. It's exactly the opposite, rats have more nutrition than mice as most people here will tell you.

    Since no studies have been done on the nutritional requirements of snakes, it's really irrelevant. If a snake only requires what is provided by mice, then anything more is not needed.

    I have rat eaters, mouse eaters, and ASF eaters...one is as healthy and thriving as the next. The only advantage to feeding rats as far as I can see is that you only need to feed one per feeding throughout the course of your snake's life.
