Sad another one with such talent let drugs ruin it all

Re: RIP Whitney Houston...
Sad, But I have NO sympathy for someone who kills themselves with drugs… If that’s how she died!

Yeah, the entertainment industry is a harsh one. I don't know why they choose to do things that they know can destroy them in the end.
She truly will be missed. I loved her voice.
-
She was found unresponsive in her hotel room. Sure sounds like another role model dead from drugs. I too have no sympathy at all for a crackhead

It's Michael Jackson Syndrome. He hadn't been popular for the better part of 2 decades and people went nuts when he died.
As for Whitney, I'll never understand how someone with more money than they could ever need could find something to so depressed about that they'd resort to drugs.
I won't say I'll miss her. I think the only dead celebrity I genuinely miss is Steve Irwin. How far has AP fallen without him?

Funny, I too found this out on herp site..lol.. Probably was the drugs that got her. Sad. She never could compare to Dolly Parton in "I will always love you". Dolly rules that. She shouldn't have touched it.
-
She will be missed by many. She was loved by many.
Yes, I do not understand how some one can kill themselves by use of drugs. I do not understand how any one can even get into that. It's a sad life. Do I think she is a terrible person because of it? No. I think she has made some bad choices.
She had a great talent. Enough said.
As for Steve Irwin. He was the ONLY person that I did not personally know that I cried over his death. That was so sad. He was my idol.

Well...I agree with this statement.
But I still do like Whitney Houston.

Re: RIP Whitney Houston...
I still to this day remember the day Steve Irwin died. My husband had to go to work early, and woke me up and told me. We used to watch him ALL the time. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. The world, the animals, the crocs, his family, all lost a truly wonderful person. That, is sad.

I remember that day as well. Shock was best way to describe it. We truly lost a role model that day. But I won't miss some pill popping drug taking celebrity who wants to flush there life down the toilet. To bad a person died but you reap what you sow.

Re: RIP Whitney Houston...
Yeah, I don't understand why these people can just toss their lives in the crapper for drugs. What could they possibly need/want that they couldn't afford? Maybe she should have had a python or two or three in her life for stress management......
-
She would of probablly let it go in the glades in a crack binge

Aww babe! That's okay, Jess texted me during the wedding! Haha.
Probably a drug overdose..

Re: RIP Whitney Houston...
Yea well they haven't stated her cause of death yet so why don't all of you ease off the gas with the insensitive comments of her dying as a 'crackhead'
You don't know how she died yet, and no matter what it looks like it could turn out to be something else not related so lay off.
:(R.I.P Whitney

Another famous person dies & gets all the headlines! SMH....How many Military Men & Women died on this same day? They won't get half the coverage!
Gone But Never Forgotten!!!!!!
-
Rough Crowd here!...Addictions of any kind are a tough road. They will sneak up, grab you and take over your life. It's tough to let them go. It takes a lot of courage and will to deal with it but it can be done. Does that make them a bad person? Not always...

What i dont get is how these so called ppl in entertainment think they have such a hard life.
Such a hard live making/made Millions that we could only dream of, and struggling to make ends meet.
I have no sympathy over any drug abusers regardless if their on tv or not using it for an excuse of hard times.

Give me a break. How many times was she in and out of rehab? She was a known drug addict. True they haven't released cause of death but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck its probably a duck. Sorry if that seems "insensitive" but really this is not a person who turned to drugs to escape a bad life just a rich spoiled person that had nothing better to do with there time but get high. Plus honestly do you you think she would have gave a rats backside if any of us died? Don't think so.

Millions of dollars ≠ happiness.
I dislike this argument. They live very different lives than we do. Michael Jackson made who knows how much money.. would you say that he didn't have a hard life because of his messed up childhood?
Not condoning her drug use, but there is always more to it than meets the eye.
Don't take your privacy for granted.

Not tryin to start a mud slinging fight but i can assure you 110%
Millions of dollars= happiness for me at least
I cant speak for everyone though and im not trying to.

I also agree with this. Plus even if she stopped doing drugs and was sober... Years of drug use can weaken other things like ur heart. So ya she coulda died from a heart attack buttttt, her heart was probably weakened to begin with from years of drug use...

Thats there problem if they dwell on the past, Whats done is done and i leave it there. I can assure you if i was filthy rich I for one would never resort to drugs cause its so readily available for the "Rich"...
Theres never more to a story when it comes to drug use. Theres no reason to EVER use drugs for any selfish reason cause you had this or that. Thats whats pathetic about the entertainment industry

Many people aren't lucky enough to be able to do that (to just shrug off the past), especially if it was a messed up or traumatizing past. We will truly never know what has happened to her/any celebrity in their past, unless they choose to be open about it (and not everyone would be).
An example would be rape. I think it's pretty harsh if someone were to say: "ITS YOUR PROBLEM IF YOU DWELL ON THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS OF YOUR RAPE".
Basically what I'm trying to say here is: everyone is different, and you're lucky that you can just separate the past from the present.
Sure, this is all speculation, but it reeeeeeaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyy bothers me when people say that "rich people have nothing to be depressed about/their life is not hard because they're rich".
Money doesn't mean much when it comes to true happiness.
I can say that I wouldn't do this or wouldn't do that if I was filthy rich, but in reality, I really don't know, because I'm not in that situation right now.

I cant say all rich people dont have anything to worry about or should be happy but im sticking to my original statement. I assure you that millions of dollars would make me happy and take away ALOT of the things i worry about. And as far as people who die from drug use I have no sympathy for drug users. My cousin is a heroin addict. I was really close to her when we were young. If she dies from a heroin overdose its not that i wont care or be sad, but im not gunna get hung up on it... She knows the drugs are gunna kill her and so do I but its her life shes ruining not mine. She doesnt want help so I dont worry about it.

You were saying that people resort to using drugs because they have trouble coping with their past. I just shared a story about how i dont have any remorse for people who choose to use drugs. Am i wrong? I tend to read fast so its possible.
On a side note i didnt realize you were the one i was debating with in both of these post lol. For the record i have nothing against you but I am thoroughly enjoying our discssions :)

I was JUST lip singing "I will Always Love You" because it was on the radio about 30 minutes before the news came out, then I get a text saying she had died....it was crazy.

Right here. Its implied youre talking about using drugs because thats whats richs post was about that you quoted. He said drugs shouldnt be the answer for people who cant cope with their past just because theyre more readily available to rich people and in your counter argument you say not everyone can do that. By saying not everyone can do that, i assume youre defending whitneys drug use.
Im probably reading it differently and I know a synonym for implied is assume and we all know what that means lol.
-
Re: RIP Whitney Houston...
When was the last time she was relevant 15 years ago? This may seem harsh but who cares? Some people get what they deserve! Live by the sword die by the sword!
I never understood all the pity and sympathy these rich people get when they self-destruct :rage:

Sorry if you took it that way. I'm really tired so I may not be getting my point across clearly.
I wasn't talking about the drugs, I was arguing against his "rich people have nothing to be depressed about" mentality.

She destroyed herself with years of drug and substance abuse. She even managed to "out drug" Bobbie Brown, and that's saying something. Sorry, but I can't say the news of her death was a shock. Saddly, it was pretty much bound to happen sooner or later. Reports from her last live tour say her voice as so damaged that people walked out and asked for their money back.
I've always said, "If you can't set a good example, then at least be a horrible warning to others."

News of her death is blowing up my facebook.. it's PATHETIC... Why do we suddenly care when somebody who has been "gone from the scene" for so long? Oh wait! There dead! let's all morn there death even though we don't care. People follow the pied piper...he leads his rats through the street.. They're all slaves.
If you have so much money why tear your life apart? You know, it's PATHETIC AND DISGUSTING what we Americans do to Celebrity's... WHO cares? They gained a pound?!?! WHO CARES??!, they got surgery!?! If we'd pull our heads out of there buts maybe we'd get someone as a country... I'm sorry but Justin Bieber isn't going to get us out of debt..:rage:
To Steve Irwin... When he died... That hit me hard... :tears: I took a week off of school and had a break down...I couldn't take that my hero was dead.. Being Bi Polar makes life pretty "stressful" but for a while after that, eh.. idk.. :(

While I was never a Whitney fan I am a bit shocked by some of these comments. Somebody started a thread titled "RIP (person)" and people almost immediately start bashing the dead. I'm not much of a Bible reader either but there's some such verse about not throwing rocks at someone unless you yourself are faultless. We've all made mistakes, that's how we grow and learn. Fallibility is one of our defining characteristics as humans, just some make larger mistakes than others and rebound faster too. I think some of us could learn a bit of compassion(not necessarily for the deceased but perhaps towards those for whom she will be missed). Now I realize from reading this thread that some of you are very passionate about drug use and that's awesome, I'm 100% anti drug too. I'm also convinced this thread is not the proper venue for a "flaming Whitney Houston" extravaganza.
My condolences to those who are saddened by the passing of Whitney Houston.

I am sorry to those who miss her. But don't we have freedom of speech, aren't we entitled to opinions????? To each his own.

Weird, seems my last response didn't take.. To answer your question, we certainly do have freedom of speech. I was just saying there is a time and a place and I doubt this is what the OP intended when they started a thread titled "RIP Whitney". You are free to start your own "let's bash Whitney" thread or continue hating here. You are free to portray yourself in whatever light you wish.

I'll agree with you.. it is a RIP one.. BUT I didn't bash myself. I merly commented on how we see celebrities as "gods" now a days.. And it blows my mind.. I know she died, but you have all these people who HATE her following the crowd saying "RIP!" And they lie... THAT... is what angers me...
But yes... I do agree......
Re-reading my post it seems like that, I wasn't bashing her, merely all these "followers"
