What Kind of Rack should I get?
I have One adult bp and three juvies. One 5ft Boa and two juvie boa's. I dont plan on getting more boas at the moment, but I will think about getting maybe one or two more bp's.
So I'm wondering what would be the best rack setup for me? I'm trying to keep it under $400 but willing to spend more if I absolutley must.

    Any Suggestions?

have you checked out racks made by Animal Plastics?

    Their products are top notch

    http://www.animalplastics.com/

I would get the AP IRIS CB-70 rack the 7 shelf costs $455 plus shipping.

If you want a rack that can use different size tubs check out vision racks. They are the most versatile racks out there. You can have em set up to house hatchling to cb70 tubs all in one unit. I know the general consensus on this site is animal plastics but the vision racks are pretty sweet. The animal plastics are good too but not as versatile as visions

I have been looking at animal plastics but not sure witch one would suit me best. I'll check out vision for sure. I have snakes that are different in ages. I'm really concerned about my 5ft boa and fitting her on a rack with the other smaller snakes.

Re: What Kind of Rack should I get?
I'd put my vote in for an Animal Plastics rack. I have two, one a Sterilite 1755/9-slot rack and the other an Iris V-35/8-slot rack. They're built like tanks and hold up extremely well. They're pricey but worth every penny in my opinion, plus they're pretty comparable to other manufacturers in price. I can't say on the Vision racks; never used one and don't know. That would be nice to have the versatility factor of them but as for their quality, I can't say. Are you wanting to keep all of your snakes on a single rack system? If not, you might look at Reptile Basics for your boa rack and Animal Plastics for a ball python rack. If you're set with the number of boas you have then a three or four slot rack from Reptile Basics might be the way to go. The nice thing with some of the models made by Animal Plastics is that they'll fit the 32-quart tubs or 15-quart tubs for juvies/hatchlings on the same rack, depending what you get. Hope that helps...good luck with whatever you decide and hope it works out.

The issue I have with Vision racks is that they are open sided. if you don't have a heated reptile room this can cause issues.

I have one of the Animal Plastics ones. Its a smaller one. Six levels and Sterilite tubs. It was easy and fun to put together and its slotted for the heat tape. I love it!:gj:

The open sides of the vision rack could pose a problem if you dont have a snake room and your ambient room temps are in the high 60s low 70s but because they use heat rope and bot flexwatt you can dictate how much heat you appy to it too. I have visions along with freedom breeders and ive used other plastic racks and for me i love the visions. Now the ap racks are awesome racks too. There isnt anything bad about them. They are sturdy and hold good heat especially without a snake room.

I'm interested in how they combine flexwatt and heat rope. Would you be willing to elaborate?

What types of boas do you have, the 1755 might be a bit small for a large boa, but the CB-70 would be as well. Personally I would go with the CB-70 size But either should be ok.

Your right! I have the cb-70. I have BPs in it. Don't think boas would be good unless you are thinking rosy boas or maybe KSBs.

I have that style/size rack and LOVE it for my ball pythons. For boas, unless they're Hog Island or other insular/"smaller" subspecies, that would be too small, I'm afraid. It'll fit a 32 quart tub which is fine for most ball pythons, outside of the larger adult females but for a boa, especially an adult, that would be way too cramped. It would be quite a bit over your budget that you mentioned but have you looked at their cages? The T13/T20 and up would be great for a boa...price not being an issue, of course, lol! Sorry...I don't know that you're going to find a one-size-fits-all rack to work for you with the species you have. You could probably do okay getting one for the balls and another for the boas but I don't know that you're going to find one that's ideal for both.

I think I might get this one from boaphileplastics.com
    http://www.boaphileplastics.com/rhin...sterilite.html
With 6 shoe boxes and 3 sweater/blanket boxes. Please let me know of I'm making a mistake. Or of anyone has any info on rhino raxx.

A full grown boa should have at least a 4 foot long enclosure, I really doubt you are going to find a rack that will be good for both your boas and balls. If I were you I would consider getting a CB-70 (41qt) rack for your ball pythons and temporarily your boas. Then when you can get PVC enclosures for your boas.

I have one and it's a great rack no complaints. Just be prepared to wait a few weeks and if you have questions give them a call and you will get your questions answered. 32 qt tubs will probably not be big enough for full grown Boas though. If you have Juvie Boas you will be good for awhile.

You could always build your own with exactly what you need and maybe some space to add some animals in the future. You'll save a ton of money and it's not too difficult. Check out the DIY section.

I really like my racks from Reptile Basics. I'm not sure if they are being made again yet. Someone took over that part of the business for him.
