feeding while shedding
well i think it just depends on ur snake .some will eat while shedding and some wont.mine eats sometimes while he is shedding but alot of the times other snakes wont just because they cant see as good, but if u wait a day of two he or she will shed because soon as their eyes go clear again after turning blue they will shed two to three days after and might i suggest putting a bowl big enough for him or her to get into to soak

if you just got her I'd wait. make sure the the humidity in her tank is at least 70%

I have a bowl of water large enough she can soak, her humidity is at 72%. thank you

Re: shedding/feeding?
Wait for sure. I have had snakes eat during the first few days after their eyes turn blue, but feeding in the later stages of shed can cause regurgitation, which is not something you want to risk.

She is adorable, by the way!

There is a slight risk to the snake feeding during shed and many will not feed during shed cycles anyway I would not bother a missed meal or two presents no risk to a healthy animal.

Source on how feeding during shed can lead to problems? Not saying it isn't true, just never heard that before.

Re: shedding/feeding?
I would wait too. She should shed within a few days. Make sure humidity is 70. I like to put damp, not sopping spaghum moss in their hide. Gives them something to rub against as well. It shouldn't hurt her to wait until after shed to eat. Congrats on your new baby! They are so fun and addictive :D

thanks yall, I bought her from a local pet store, NOT PETSMART, poor little girl did not even have a hide and she was under bright lights I felt like I had to buy her, especally after holding her.....Her name is Paisley, my daughter named her.

I haven't been able to find a source, I've only heard speculation, but I believe it has something to do with their impaired sight during shed making them especially nervous and flighty, which can result in a regurge (they are unable to make a quick getaway with a big meal in their stomachs).

The Barkers (VPI) mention it as a possibility in their book,
Pythons of the World, Vol II: BALL PYTHONS (2006)

It is a remote possibility and many do not believe that it is possible at all. Discounting the Barkers (called by USARK as experts in the field) as well as the experience of this member too.
I personally believe that even a one in 100000 chance is too great in this case as the amount of harm by missing a meal perhaps two for a healthy animal is so low to be non existent. The only pressure is the drive to hit breeding size as fast as possible to some that may be worth the slight risk, I not being a breeder don't have a schedule.
