Blue Eyed Lucy. Help with Genetics.
We bought our first breeder male this week. He is a Blue Eyed Leucistic. The seller didn't know his genetics. So the question for all of you is, what Do you think is in this boy? He doesn't have the grey like a Mohave, and he has a fair amount of yellow on his back.
I'd love to hear what you all think. He's going to be bred to 3 normals so we may need your opinion when the babies hatch also!

Mojave x Lesser or Butter pairing. From all the pics I have seen that's what they look like as adults.

    Definitely not a super mojo.
    I wana say lesser/butter x lesser/butter or mojoxlesser/butter to say the least.

In the end, you're just going to have to see what kind of hatchlings come out.

The only possible BEL combo I can say that this probably isn't , is a Super Mojo. But it could be anything else. I've seen Super Butters look like that, I've seen Russo's look like that, Latte's, Butter x Russo's. Any combo can look like that.

Leucistics are apparently like a box of chocolates! You never know what you are going to get - until the eggs hatch.

I was wondering when this would happen. Should be fun to figure out!

Years ago the guy from CA that made the Crystals (Baker?) had collected a group of blue eyed leucistics and was going to start breeding them together. I never heard of that project again but I could see how something like that could produce leucistics that you couldn't really know what they are. I'm still at least another year away from producing my first leucistic but fun to think of them getting to the point where they are somewhat generic.

We bought him because we wanted a jumpstart. We have 3 breeder normals and didn't want to mess with producing normals. We are guaranteed to get all morphs. With that said we are years and years from producing these ourself!

I'd say that snake has some Russo/Mocha in it. Most of the BEL's produced with those genes are very white with a faint stripe. Just my two cents

Could be anything. I have seen mojo x mojo look very similar, no grey just a bit of yellow on the back and I have seen the mojo mojo with a very dark head. High quality mojo x mojo can produce quite clean bels.

The question I have is why breed to normals? Why not go to a Lesser, Mojo, or butter?

Am I the only one that thinks it looks like an Albino Ivory?

This is our first attempt at breeding. We bought 3 proven females and went shopping for a male. We were hoping to buy a Lesser or Mojave but found this guy and splurged!

Ahh where I am mojos are very cheap females are going for 150-200$ and the potential return is so much higher. There are a lot of mojo where I am too everybody seems to be breeding them so the demand is also low and they are hard to sell. (hence the price) There are often adults for cheap around I bought a adult female (1700gm for 200$) so you can see where my confusion came from.

The $200 1,700 gram female wasn't a mojave was it? I would expect female mojave, lesser, or butters of that size to be about as expensive as hatchling leucistics. Female maturity time is very expensive.

I know what you mean, with the yellow dorsal stripe, but if if were the dorsal stripe would more likely be a brighter yellow and more pronounced and it would have red/pink eyes.

Yup she is, I picked her up she isn't the greatest mojo ever but she is a monster for food she can also be quite aggressive.

In all likely hood its a Lesser mojo BUT it could also be of a couple other combinations. Mocha, het russo, and the least likely phantom.

    Beautiful Bp!!!!

Yes, it would be hard to pass that up even with the bad attitude. I'd like to cull the last of my hissy ball pythons from my collection but I keep finding other genetics reasons to keep a few. Maybe that's why the previous owner sold her cheap?
