sorry kira

Well my girl just arrived to my wife dead. Shipped her back home yesterday and just found out she didn't make the trip across country. So my 1 and only BP is now gone. My heart feels so empty right now and on top of all of it my house is getting packed up and being moved back to california and I'm just a mess right now. I feel like its my fault but she was packaged right so not sure what happened and don't care. Just the fact that I've been dreaming of having kira my whole life and now she is gone is just killing me inside. I loved my baby girl and will miss her always. Love you kira and I'm sorry.

What a bummer. So sorry for your loss. Don't give up on them though, there could be another great snake waiting to be yours someday.

No right on time. My wife said the box came with an air tight bag over it but oxygen shouldn't have been a problem. I don't know I'm just miserable right now.

Do you know why there was an airtight bag over it? That seems strange....and if it was truly airtight..that might have been what did it. I know that snakes don't need much oxygen to survive but I've never heard of a snake surviving in an airtight box for 24 hours; it's why we poke holes in the box.

Again, this is REALLY terrible and I hope you recover soon. :(

I'm confused on the airtight bag as well? I'm terribly sorry for your lose though, will the shipping company do anything about it?

Not sure cause all I know is what my wife said but I fly home tomorrow so I will be looking into it.

I will but it doesn't matter to me now though just because she is irreplaceable and money could be the only outcome but my wife said she threw the packaging away with kira deceased inside so I will be checking on this plastic wrap because if they are responsible for my lil girls death then I'm going to well aparently the words I was bout to say I can't so let's just say I will make them wish they were the ones dead in a box. My animals are my family and the box had live animal all over it so a plastic bag of some sort seems quite idiotic.

sorry man, ive had to come home to three dead snakes in my life, and its always terrible, its like losing a kid, again, sorry Joe

I am so sorry for your loss. One of my favorite snakes, adult pied male, was recovering from RI. He was treated by a herp vet and given a clean bill of health. I was checking on all the snakes, as I do every morning and he was dead in his cage. Sometimes, no matter what we do, bad things just happen, but it does not make it hurt any less. My prayers are with you!

So sorry for your loss. I know you probably don't want to replace your snake so soon but sometimes a new pet helps the heart heal.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. It means a lot. And I will own many more BPs someday and get back to myself. Just can't believe it. That is the one snake that no matter her scar and no matter if I owned 1000 snakes. No snake would have been her. The future BPs were the hobby, but kira was my love. Thanks again.

It is not your fault and you did the best that you could to provide for her. Wait a while and I am sure when the time is right a new little one will find you. They are all special and unique a new one will never replace a lost one but it is just as true that different snake will bring its own unique offerings to brighten things for you.

Thanks Alex, it means a lot. I will start up again and I'm in LAX airport gettin ready to finally be home permanantly after 5 years of the military and its just gonna break my heart when she isn't gonna be there when I get home. But when the pain passes and I get settled into my new life I will definately start over and begin all my reccessive projects with albinos, ghosts and axanthics that I've been wanting to do. With just a new albino female ofcourse. But anyways, just wanted to say thanks to you and everyone else who has pm'd me or gave their condolences. I really appreciate all of you. But ill still be on from time to time to gain some knowledge for the future.
