    Excellent video.

And he hit the nail on the head with education and how we sometimes talk to each other.

Very good video. I too wish I had a teacher like him in highschool. Could someone explain to me what he was talking about with the whole BHB alligator incident? I watched the part twice but Im having trouble getting his point or what the story was..?

BHB put out how he was a fan of one of the guys on Shipping Wars who is in to reptiles. BHB thought it was good publicity. Then, the internet armchair quarterbacks did nothing but slam the guy's husbandry, and as often happens, completely missed the point. I am astounded by the folks who cannot see the forest for the trees.

I hear what he's saying, but I think we need to be very cautious of our image right now, and I'm not sure he said it all as clearly as he might have.

Some people may take away from this that he's saying we should ignore real husbandry problems when we spot them. Obviously we cannot ignore animal abuse or neglect--doing so is the opposite of what we want to accomplish in the hobby. I'm pretty sure that he means we need to stop nitpicking over minor differences in husbandry, and such.

I'm a little concerned about the video proliferating it in its current form, as a result of that ambiguity.
As for his intent and meaning, I agree with it 100%.

Great video. The one thing i didnt take away from it was ignoring husbandry. What i think his point was is that instead of trashing someone on it we educate them on proper husbandry. Look every single person that owns a snake had to learn from hands on. Sure you can research all ya want and google everything but until you do it hands on you dont learn it. And if anyone who owns a snake sits here and says they have done everything perfect from day one then im throwin up the bs card.

Although I agree that ignoring husbandry is a no-no, I don't think that's what he was trying to say. I think he was saying (and this is what I took away from the video) is that instead of telling someone "Oh man! You are a HORRIBLE snake keeper! I mean, look at all the things you are doing wrong; only an idiot would keep a snake like that!" he was trying to say that we should educate people in a kind way.

I think this board is unique in it's ability to be kind to complete and total beginners instead of ripping them a new one when they can't figure out why their snake isn't shedding right or is kept in the wrong kind of enclosure. But I can't say that about other boards....I think his overall message in that part of the video was to just be nicer to each other. :colbert2:

Oh, I know it's not what he meant, I'm just not sure that no one will THINK that's what he meant. It's a minor thing, really. The actual intended message is great.
