    Adopting a bp
Hi guys, I'm new to the forums, hopefully now that I'm adopting a ball python I'll be a more frequent visitor. I just wanted to ask peoples opinion on what type of morph this girl is.

    http://images.craigslist.org/5G85Kb5...9421d41c96.jpg

I thought she looked similar to a Lesser, but since I only have experience with corn snakes and their relatives, I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the vast number of morphs that ball pythons have.

    Thanks,
    B

That looks like a normal, the picture isn't great but I'm pretty sure.

Check out this website if you want to learn more about ball python morphs:

Its probably a normal. Morphs are difficult to find through adoption. I've talked to my local snake adoption person and she filled me in on that info.

It looks like a normal in shed to me. Welcome to the site and good luck with the resuce!

I was looking at one of the big breeder sites last night and saw two or three that looked similar to that one and they were calling them Chocolates. I had never heard of it before and they did look sort of like Normals but just a richer brown than usual.

to me it looks like a normal nearing the end of its shed cycle.

I think normal also. Maybe shedding, as others have said also. They get washed put and dull like that when in shed. Picture isn't real clear though. Congrats on your bp!

    I vote for normal too.
Our babe is browner than most normals, but he's still a gorgeous normal! :D

There's nothing really normal about normal BP. They are merely more common. :P

Congrats on the adoption! We also adopted our babe, Basil.

Thanks for the replies guys, I thought she looked normal, but a bit "off", I guess it's due to shedding. The person I'm adopting her from has no idea there are different types of ball pythons and had no info on her background --- so I didn't know what to make of that picture. I can't wait to see her :)

I just noticed the Q thing as well, nice. Saw the cast 1 1/2 yrs ago at DragonCon in ATL and he was there, awesome! Sadly you had to pay $30 per autograph so we only got 1 that day of Dr. Jackson from Stargate. I did have 2 more guinea pigs whose names were Kirk and Riker (brothers of my 2 girls Luka and Leia) but gave them to my friends who have a little girl and she is a teacher (they are now renamed Scooby and Shaggy).

Alot of them come to the convention every year in ATL. It happens the weekend of Labor Day. Stan Lee was there the year we went but was $100 to get into the room he was in.

I'm going to go to Dragoncon this year. I really wanted to last year, but because of work I couldn't take off.

This year I absolutely will be going.

Good to see trekkies on the forums :)

So, I went to go pick up my baby girl today, and he had another snake his wife said she was going to put outside if he didn't adopt him out. I felt bad for him -- it's pretty obvious he didn't want to get rid of either snake. So, now I have two.

Just want to confirm both are normal.

I know it's a crappy picture again, I can't find my camera, so it's being done with my super retro phone cam.
