Some do, but weight isn't the only requirement. They also have to be old enough to be sexually mature. Some are some aren't, there is no garentee, and even if they are ready some still won't breed their first time around the block.

You can, but just because you get them up to size doesn't mean they will breed. I know plenty of people that have gotten 6 month old males to breed, and plenty of people that had to wait a year or more before the male would breed.

Male generally get to breeding size way before a year of age, if they are producing sperm plugs they can breed, now because they can does not mean they will, and because they can does not mean YOU (if you are inexperienced) should breed a young male as breeding can take it's toll on a male and it can be bred to death if not careful.

i have a 900 gram 2 year old lesser that was very unwilling to breed this year.(he is finally attempting but no visuals yet). on the flip side i have a 400 gram last years hatch enchi that is breeding a couple of ladies.(visual locks)
its up to the fella if he wants to breed.

Sure they can get to breeding size in one year but that doesnt mean they will breed. I would not stake your plans on a male going in one year. I have had 5 males this year get up to size from last years babys and none of them would breed this year. The biggest one was 700 grams and he wouldnt do a thing. I have had a little luck over the years but not much. Again dont bank on it at all.

I have an 8 month old at 500 grams and he won't breed yet. No plugs and no interest. It all depends. I'm hoping he will be ready for a very late season breeding soon but who knows. It's all up to him.

They are little opaque, gooey, blobs. If you pop a male that is producing plugs you'll most likely get a bit of urine or poo if he's really unhappy about being popped, but you'll also get sperm. And it looks pretty much exactly like what you'd expect it to. Only a bit thicker.

You find them in the water of males that soak also. Just a bit of cloudy goo.

I have 2 yearling males that are breeding like crazy, but I also have 2 that show no interest at all. It is a craps shoot if they are going to breed or not....

My bee was hatched in July, and he's already 700g. He's been gaining about 100g/month since I got him in September! As long as he's feeling frisky, I'm sure he'll be ready in plenty of time for next season. Not that I have a female anywhere near breeding age yet. XD

Most of them will be mature by age one, if you feed them up properly. Out of 4 male holdbacks from last year, only one didn't make the weight, and that's because he's a picky eater, and actually didn't have the size.
The other 3 are locking up with the girls just fine.
In previous years, it was about the same--every once in a while, you get a one-year-old male who just isn't ready yet, but most of them will be.

What people are calling sperm plugs aren't actually sperm plugs, they're just bits of partially dried semen found inside the hemipenal pockets. (A sperm plug is something males leave behind in a female to prevent other males from inseminating her, and ball pythons don't produce those).
But, sometimes herpers co-opt terms in creative ways, and so long as you know what they're talking about, I guess it's all good.
