OMG he was wagging his tail....
So my male bp has been off feed for awhile. He decided to resume feeding a week or so ago. He is my only "live" eater. He was eating the other day, his whole body still, neck in s pose, but his tail was wagging! Cute, but funny. Anybody seen that before???? :O

I've only ever seen a female do it, as the male was courting her.

Do males really do it too?

Haha, maybe that had been his problem. We got him as an adult and had been told he had been bred before. He was stalking that rat with only a tail wag, maybe he thought him and the rat were "gonna get it on" ....lmao.... :D

My female normal did this for me once. My heart melted! It's more cute than any puppy tail wag if you ask me.

My snake started wagging her tail once and I totally *squeeeed*. Then she took a gigantic crap all over my bedspread.

    LOL! That sucks, Emily!

I've seen corns rattle their tails before in an attempt to scare me off (fat chance!) but I've never seen a ball python rattle.

When I did see tail wagging, it was like a slooow swiiiiiiiish swiiiiiiiish swiiiiiiish

    Very cute!

I posted something like this a long time ago when one of my little ones did this to me. I'm pretty sure she was trying to let me know that she didn't want me cleaning her enclosure at that time. Never seen it since but I'm always handy with a camera now if it does because I thought it was so awesome.

That sucks. My corn has done "the poopy dance", this was different though. More just tail wag than whole body wiggle. He has so much personality though, my goofy boy.

usually you will only see this in females during breeding season, have you sexed him to be sure or was it just sold to you as a male?

If what your snakes are doing is what I'm thinking of, it's called Caudal luring, and snakes generally only do it when very hungry. I've caught a couple of my snakes doing it once or twice. Here's a video of what I'm talking about.
