Bp stuck in car need help asap! Cold out!!!
Got my first BP a month or so ago and became a member of this site a week or two back and have must been doing a lot of reading. Long story short a friend wanted to get one too and she bought one today. On the way home we stopped at a gas station and when we came out the snake got out of its box!!! It coiled up under the front seat of her Ford Explorer. I tried and tried to push/pull it out but there is no way. It's below freezing out right now. We had the heat up all the way but it just ran out of gas.

How do we get it out?!?!

Wish this didn't have to be my first post but I can't think of any quick ways. We have a live mouse. Any way to bait it out or is it just too scared?

I hope someone didnt put it in a cardboard box!! Leave it alone to relax.. If its that cold he should head for heat as soon as the coast is clear. Keep ur eye on him

The mouse trick prolly wont work right now.

If its hiding up under the seat and you cant get it out then take the seat out. Should be four bolts holding the seat in, 2 in front, 2 in back. They will be tight but should only take 10 minutes to get the seat out, then flip it over and should give you easy access for snake removal.

If you want to try to get him out under the seat again if none of the other things work. Try unwrapping by the tail first.

Got her out!!! Thank you all for the quick replies. I did what speedfreak said and removed the seat. Well, I only had to take out the front bolts and then was able to lift the seat up enough to pull her out. She looks fine now and is in the aquarium getting warmed up. I'll post a pic in a bit of where she was stuck. Not a very good one, but I didn't wanna waste time taking pics. It's about an hour drive from the pet shop and we stopped at a gas station to get some drinks. Came back out and yep, empty cardboard box. Why the pet shops don't use something better, I don't know. I should have brought a better case for it since I knew what we were getting but lesson learned. Again, thanks for the help!

If you can't unbolt the seats, then try hooking it gently with a snake hook. If you don't have one, then try a rounded point hanger.

I doubt the mouse trick will work too.

Did you get the snake from petco/mart? I know they box their snakes..

    Good luck.

Whenever I bring an snake home or get a new one i always bring a cooler, pillow case and a water bottle. I fill the water bottle with hot water fromt the tap and put it in the cooler for a bit to warm it up, then i put the snake in the pillow case, then in the cooler. No chance of excape and a warm snake for as long as you need. Happy to hear the snake was ok!

    i would try:
    1. removing the seat
    2. hiding and waiting for a bit
    3. some gental snake-hooking
    4. more waiting

This is Boston, my friends snake stuck under the seat. Was the only decent pic I could get at the moment.

Again, thanks for the quick help! For a few minutes we thought there was next to no chance of finding her before she froze.
