That looks sharp. I wish I could get something like that going.

Videos make it so much easier to get a lot of info across quickly, don't they? I really enjoyed the presentation of your Snapple incubator, Mr. Spooky. Thanks. I have a couple of questions and an observation.
Have you measured the temperature differential from top shelf to bottom shelf?
What is your reason for humidifying the big enclosure since you already have the eggs in their individual enclosed, humid egg boxes?
I see you have a wireless thermometer/hygrometer in one of the egg boxes as a secondary check. When I left a similar unit in an egg box for at least a couple of months, the hygrometer function degraded badly. Maybe the newer ones have a higher rating, though, and can withstand that humidity better.
It looks like you've got a really solid system there. I like the little touches, such as the light switch. I'm always having to shine a flashlight in my unit.

hi, thanks for the reply.
i measured the temps on the diferent shelfs at one time, but i cant remember the diferences. ill try to get another thermo and do it again and let ya know!
my reasioning (work with me on this one:weirdface) for humidifting the whole enclosure is kinda simple. yes, the "egg boxes" are holding their own humidity, but 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they have hot dry air circulating around, and through the box. i just kinda thought that if you added humidity to the whole system, your substrate in the boxes would never dry out, and it would just make for a more stable enviroment all the way around... is it truly effective?? i dunno,,, but my substrate kept good humidity through out the whole incubation process, and i had a 100% hatch rate.. BUT,, on the otherhand,,, it all could have been dumb luck:banana:.
and yes,, puting the "second thermo/hydro in the egg box is CRAP... it will eventualy mess them up. i had 2 of them when i built this (about 2 years ago) and thats how i got the temps in diferent locations of the incubator.
on a little side note, before i used this incubator, i had thin slivers of toilet paper taped to the racks in diferent spots to see the air movement,,, and there was movement throughout the whole incubator.
thanks
