East Coast Reptile Super Expo - Reading, PA - 1/21/12
Anyone planning on going to the East Coast Reptile Super Expo in Reading, PA this weekend?

    http://www.eastcoastreptilesuperexpos.com/

I'll be heading out there to get some rat food if they have it and we'll see what else I come home with... I have something specific in mind but don't know if I'll find it there...

How big is this one compared to the White Plains Expo? The vendor list doesnt look as big and it would be a 4 hour drive for me so i probably wont be able to make it this time...

I've never been to White Plains. I was planning on going to the last one but family stuff came up and I couldn't make it. I've never been to the show in Reading either though. I went to the same show when it was in Oaks this past fall and it was ok. It was the weekend of hurricane Irene so I hope that was a factor in the smaller turnout and that it will be bigger this time. Either way, they had some good deals at the last one I went to. Mostly single and double genes but there were some higher end morphs there too. I remember it being really heavy on bearded dragons for some reason too...

In all, I'm driving about an hour and a half each way. I don't think I'd drive four...

I went out there last winter, it was so-so...I will not be going this time around, just not up to it. If you're going out there with purpose, worth it...if just to browse, not worth a big trip.

On a side note Kevin, there's a guy named Mike that delivers feeders/feed/bedding to your area of Jersey on a monthly basis I think...pretty good price on rat food. If you're interested, PM me for his e-mail.

Thanks Rob. I may be contacting you for his email address after this show. I'm not sure if I'll even find any lab block there. I got some at Hamburg, so I figured it would be worth a shot. Yes, I am going with a purpose. I have a specific bp morph in mind, so we'll see what I find. I'll take pics of the show so anyone who may be curious about it can get an idea of size...

It looks like we'll be checking it out. I need a few f/t rats until my next Rodenpro order. And I'll see if I can save enough pennies for something new...although I'm running out of room on my racks for new bps!

Awesome! We'll probably see you there then. Chris and I are planning on being there right around 9. Let me know what time you guys will be there and we'll make sure we see you...

Oh, and if you find anything you need to get but don't have the room, I've got some empty shelves in my snake room... ;) ;) :D

Well, we made it through the snow and got to the show at 10:00. Unfortunately in a rush to leave, i forgot my camera. Once again, it wasn't a great turnout, but that's probably because of the weather. I went in looking for some Harlan lab block but didn't find any. I did find one guy who had a few 50lb bags of Mazuri 6F for $26 so I bought the last one he had.

I went in looking to add fire to my collection but didn't see what I was looking for. I only saw one fire male for sale, but I did see one marked as a het pied that I'm convinced was a fire. Beautiful bright animal with the fire headspot.

The trip wasn't a total waste though. As I was about to give up, I spotted this BRIGHT and clean female butter, brighter than any other butter or lesser at the show. Talking to the breeder, he said it was a poss het hypo, but he wasn't selling it as one. Judging by how bright she was, I'm leaning toward yes, but will pick up a male hypo next year to try to prove her out.

I will post pics of her when my laptop is charged. I took a couple before putting her in her new tub, but I now realize it is almost impossible to catch their true colors in a pic...
