There are a FEW big breeders who have somehow managed to get UPS to provide a waiver for them to ship snakes, but don't hold your breath over getting one of those yourself.
It's really no big deal anyhow. UPS used to be less expensive than Fed Ex, but if you do some comparisons, you will see that it's no longer the case. Particularly not when you compare UPS to SYR rates.

Re: ups shipping?
ok does anyone know who those few big breeders are. i was suprised when i just got my kingsnakes from ben and they were shipped ups.
-
the big breeders didnt just get a waiver. they are grandfathered in from when ups did ship live animals. they had been shipping with them for many years prior to the policy change and were granted waivers due to being grandfathered.

I ship UPS for the majority but FedEx if the customer wishes based on delivery time or relative distance to their closest hub.

Re: ups shipping?
So i take it if a reptile website says they ship UPS to be a little sketched out?

Why would you be sketched out? Anyone who says they ship UPS should be doing so responsibily and doing so with the permission of UPS, there are still people out there allowed to ship snakes via UPS.
